  2. Out of spec (min/max) shows up as bad data

Data that is outside of the range of the Min and Max set in AF show up as 'bad data' in a multi-state display. This means instead of the display on the screen flashing red they turn blank (how our multi-state is setup)

I think this shouldn't behave this way. If my temperature drops below the min I want it to be shown out of spec, not bad.

I also can't just change the min and max as it drives the scale on the gauges.

  3. Add Processbook Electric T&D Symbol to PI Vision

PI vision currently does not have the Electric T&D symbols library that is included in Processbook. In the next release of PI Vision we would like to see these symbols available in processbook. Using the PI ProcessBook Migration Tool (PI Vision 2019) is not a viable workaround to use these symbols.

  4. Option to disable trend cursor sync

Not all users like synchronized trend cursors (placing a cursor on one trend causes it to appear on other trends at the same time), some find it very distracting. There should be an option to disable this functionality.

  5. TABLE: Allow Asset Comparison table to be transposed

In the paper industry, there are fewer assets at a site, but those assets tend to have many attributes (e.g., there may only be 3 paper machines, but each has 100 attributes of interest). It would be helpful if the Asset Comparison table in PI Vision could be transposed so that asset names were Column headings and attribute names were rows.
For example, instead  of a table with 5 rows and 100 columns (that can't be seen all at once on one display page), it would be better to have four columns of assets names with 100 rows of values,…

  6. Trend: Ability to multistate trace pen color

As a PI Vision user, I want to be able to configure a trend's trace color to be conditional based on the trace value. Each section of the trace should be colored appropriately based on its value at that time. See attached image for example.

  7. Modify the scale step for PI Vision symbols (gauges, trend)

When customizing symbol scale range, only top and bottom values can be specified. It would also be useful to set increment or step value to avoid unnecessary clutter on a display.

  8. PI Vision tooltip configuration

The user would like to have control over the tooltip configuration of the PI Vision symbol. For instance, he would like to show the tag of a PI Point data reference when hovering over a single value from an attribute.

  9. Option to not render bad data in XY Plot

Add an option to the XY Plot to not render bad data in the trend when either x or y is bad. Currently plots the value along the axis when the x or y is bad.

  10. Array Values in PI Vision

It would be nice to have a possibility to Display AF Array Attribute Values within PI Vision. At the Moment we try to Display the results of a SQL table lookup with one or more results in PI Vision. Due to the dynamic amount of results, it is not possible to use one Attribut per result.

  12. Add "Sequence of Events" Symbol Type

Add a table symbol which consists of the following 3 columns:

    Tag Name
    Tag Value
Tag Timestamp (default sort on this column, ascending order)

This table would consist of a set of tags over a specified time range.

The purpose of this "Sequence of Events" table is for users to analyze the root cause and order of events that took place for a set of equipment. Typically your symbols in PI Vision and the way Datalink works is that each tag is separated into a separate column or row. The key feature here is to merge the tags into one…

  13. Change the format of text in  a table symbol

The customer would like to have the possibility to change the format of text in  a table symbol for example (edit the policy, font, size, aligning a text, etc.).

  14. Format DateTime or Timestamp Data types

The current format for DateTime AF Attributes of Timestamp PI Tags is always MM-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss

Support options to customize the date format to user defined formats.

  15. Collection: Sort by attribute value

When creating a collection, would like to sort the collection by a specific attribute value (what is shown in the collection).  For example, a collection of tanks showing percent full.  Would like to be able to order the collection by percent full, to show the most full tanks at the top of the collection. This functionality should also be added to the Asset Comparison Table.

  16. Allow for PI Vision Attribute Collection Filter to Filter on Digital States

As a PI Vision user, I would like to be able to perform an attribute filter on my collection symbol to filter out attributes with certain digital states so that I can have a collection which does not contain assets with an attribute which has a value of "I/O Timeout" or some other digital state value. Currently, if you want to filter out a digital state, you need to set a rule like "Attribute =! 246", where 246 would be the numerical value for the digital state. This is inconvenient because this would then also cause the collection to filter…

  17. Allow multistate for asset comparison columns to be based on the value of another attribute

Want the ability to set multistate behavior on a attribute column based on another asset value – similar to Value, gauge and drawing symbols. If this can be done – should be able to do it as well for attribute columns which are strings. I would think it is based on a cell in a table at that point.

  18. Asset Comparison Table: Label options for attribute columns

The asset comparison table should allow control of what is shown as the column name. It would be helpful to be able to add custom friendly names to columns in asset comparison tables, or to use attribute description.

  19. Show exact archive value on PI Vision trend cursor

As a PI Vision user, when analyzing trends I would like to see the exact archive or interpolated value for Trend data items when I place a cursor. Currently the Trend data set is used to interpolate an approximate value.

In PI Vision 2020, we added trace options for data markers which show the archive values with the markers. Dropping a cursor at the timestamp of an archived value will show that archived value.

Does this meet the requirements for this feedback request?

  20. Event (EF) Plot / Batch SQC Plot

Plot for Events (EFs) or Batches are on the x-axis and process value is on the Y axis.

This might be another variant of a SQC Plot but based on batches/events (in time order) rather than strictly by time.
