Trend: Show cursor values while dragging
As a process engineer, while dragging a trend cursor I'd like to see the process values. Currently, I can only see the value once I drop the cursor, I need to see the values WHILE dragging the cursor so that I can quickly identify problems in my process.
This feature was available in previous versions (PI Coresight) and in ProcessBook.

Show descriptions in tooltip
In PI CoreSight 2014, when working with a raw Tag or attribute, one could hover over the tag and the description would appear in the tooltip. I loved that functionality. However, in the upgrade, this functionality is lost.
Please reinstate it for the next patch or upgrade.

Multistate: Play sound when state changes
We would like to be able to have a sound play as part of a multistate. Ex: on an upper limit we may want it to play a sound as an audible alarm.

Show ToolTip Statistics at PI Vision
As a PI user, I would like to see the same ToolTip statistics as we are used to see at PI ProcessBook. It is automatic when any user sees a value and wants to check further information on an attribute with PI Point Data Reference.

Ability to allow Vision users to set and save their time zone
We are a large company that is across the US. We need to allow users to set and save their time zone within PI Vision.
11 votesIf you have a chance, we’d like to learn more about the use case behind this request.
By default, PI Vision will automatically pick up and use the time zone of the client machine a user is running their browser on, so all times should be displayed in a user’s local time zone.
If this isn’t the behavior you are seeing, or if you have a use case where users need more control over the time zone being used to display data please let us know.

Use ISO 8601 Date & Time Format
In my humble opinion, the most sensible date/time format uses 24-hour time and is organised in a most-significant to least-significant sequence,
e.g. 2019-07-17 15:15:15.123
The military uses this format because they cannot afford ambiguities, such as when day number is between 1 and 12, or when hour number is 12.
So the desired format is: YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss.sss
where:-
YYYY = four-digit calendar year number
MM = zero-padded month number between 01 and 12
DD = zero-padded day number between 01 and 31
HH = zero-padded hour between 00 and 23
mm = zero-padded minute between 00 and 59
ss =…8 votes -
Change "This display is not available" message to be more descriptive
The message "This display is not available" when user does not have access to display can be confused and does not entirely describe that access was not granted.
The error message should be changed.5 votes -

PI Vision: Label options for attribute names
When adding a single attribute to a trend, only the attribute name is displayed. When adding two or more tags to the same trend, the names are displayed as element + attribute. PI Vision should allow control of what is shown as the attribute name. It would be helpful to be able to add custom friendly names.

Sort/Remove Bad Values in PI Vision
I need the ability to filter out Bad Values and also the ability to sort them. At Devon Energy we have very large Asset Framework databases for Production and there are scenarios where we do not have uniformity across all equipment, so we may get a 'No Data', 'Calc Failed', 'Bad' or 'Scan Off' sometimes in hundreds of rows of PI Vision and we need the ability to see the operational exceptions and remove these from view - or sort them to the top/bottom.

visibility base on attribute properties or condition
visibility base on attribute.
For example, on one of the unit, there is an extra temperature meter. On all the other unit, the attribute is hidden or exclude on the AF template. Can pi vision show or hide a attribute base on some condition?4 votes -
Showing commas in numbers with display digits = 0.
When display digits are set to 0, commas do not appear in numbers in PI Vision. There should be an option for those commas to appear.

Zoom Display with Mouse Wheel
Users should be able to zoom the display by using the mouse wheel. This is standard functionality on most web apps - it is even how ProcessBook displays in Vision work. But right now, for native vision displays, the only way to zoom is to hit the small, nearly invisible zoom buttons in the bottom right corner.
I see there was a similar request (https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/32265559-scroll-to-zoom-in-out-of-display-or-set-zoom) that was completed, but it is not complete. Maybe it used to work in 2018 and later versions broke it.

Add support for HTTP/2
PI Vision currently uses only HTTP/1.1. Please add support for HTTP/2 so that PI Vision will load faster. This is especially important for mobile devices, which are generally already slower compared to desktop or laptop computers.

Tooltips: Show tag attributes
As a user I would like to be able to see the commonly used tag attributes when I hover over a tag in a value, trend or other symbol so that I can effectively interpret and act on the data.
Some important attributes for end users include:
- Description
- Engineering units
- Zero and span
- Point source
- Instrumenttag3 votes -
Screen Ordering
It would be ideal if the order of the screens could be configurable and static. Having the order change constantly based on last/recently viewed is not user-friendly.

Ability to view tag configuration from PI Vision
Often users question compression settings while looking at data in ProcessBook. The user then has the ability to view the detailed tag configuration so they can determine if compression optimization is required.
This would be a useful function in PI Vision.

File Import to create folder hierarchy/modify security for PI Vision in bulk
Similar to how AF has the ability to use file imports to create various security settings in addition to creating attributes and elements, PI Vision could have the functionality of importing a file to modify security settings for PI Vision displays (User Access Levels, for one). Additionally, with the advent of Folders and sub-folders for displays in PI Vision 2017 R2, it would be nice if file imports were an option for creating a hierarchy of folders/sub-folders.

Exception / Notification based monitoring
Be able to monitor many assets at a time without having to have humans visually watch each one constantly.
Drive the monitoring on an exception basis via notifications. When an issue happens or is about to happen, notify the appropriate people and take them to the right place (display) to analyze the situation and make a decision.

Format data point on existing gauge in Vision Display
It would be nice if you were able to keep a Pi Vision board and change the pi value that is associated with a given visual. For example, I'd like to keep a stack of Horizontal Gauges and just change which pi value they are showing. Instead I have to navigate to the correct tag, and pull in a new item, and configure it as a Gauge. It makes formatting boards a nightmare unless you use all of the default sizes.
