  1. Display ownership change by the display creator (non admin)

As a Vision display creator, I would like to be able to change the ownership of a display I've created to anyone in the company without having to request to Vision Administrators.
Right now, I can add collaborators and only PI Vision Administrators can change displays ownership, but I'd like to be able to reassign the ownership too.

  3. PIVision default share configuration

PIVision allows Administartor to configure default share setup up so regular user does not need config sharing option . For recent PIVision manual, user needs to specify AF identity for sharing from config button every new display is created.

  4. Same display names in Home directory

In Home multiple displays with the same name should be allowed, at least from different owners.

The message "Display xy already exists" is completely meaningless, because the user may not be able to see displays with the same name of other owners. With 2000 users, duplicate naming is quite likely, which will very often lead to a lack of understanding.

  5. Add an API operation to change PI/AF Servers when exporting/importing displays using the API

Changing PI/AF Server names is a supported operation when exporting/importing displays using the Display Utility.

Now if we want to perform this task via the API we need to perform a search/replace task on our own before importing the display at the destination.

This is very cumbersome for a supported operation. We should be able to use an API function that would perform this PI/AF server permutation using GET/SET calls directly to ease the process.

  6. Improved Display Ownership Changes in PI Vision Display Utility

Add the ability to replace the domain part of a display owner en masse. Use case: Cross-domain PI Vision migration where the usernames are the same and the domain is different. This should ideally work the same way that the PI Server and AF Server/Database replacement works. Currently, this can be done via PI Vision API, but that requires some level of PowerShell knowledge and ability which many might not have.

  7. Data line graphs points color changes for different value ranges

For graphed data in PI Vision, I would like to be able to use limits on the data (either direct to the point definition or local to the PI Vision page) to either have the data plot line change color on the display as it passes from normal to hi to hi-hi to OOT. (or the background to change so if you cross HI, the background is now yellow at this point moving up).

This would be similar to Multi-State options which do not, today, exist for graphs.

I use dozens of plots in a column with from 1 to…

  8. PI Vision Display Utility - Allow Multiple AF or Data Archive Mappings during Display Import

Right now, it is only possible to import a display with one AF or Data Archive server remapping. I would like the option to import a display that has multiple AF Servers in the source and remap each of them to new destination servers.

  9. PI Vision display search should return results from subfolders

With the PI Vision display search bar, the filter will only search among displays that can already be seen in as display thumbnails.

Searching "within a selected folder" should also include results from any child folders as these are a sub-sets of the parent folder.

The current behavior where you must already be looking at a display thumbnail to be able to find it is un-intuitive and makes folders a less useful organizing feature

    User Guide:
    Create folders
    https://docs.osisoft.com/bundle/pi-vision/page/create-folders.html
    Search for an existing display
    https://docs.osisoft.com/bundle/pi-vision/page/search-for-an-existing-display.html

  10. Find and replace/update tag names using PI Vision Display Utility

The PI Vision Display Utility should be able to find and replace PI Points and AF Attributes by name.

A situation where this could be necessary is as follows:
    1. A PI Vision display was built for using PI Points from a certain data source
    2. A new data source, possibly a new instrument, is added to read the same process data. The old data source is taken offline.
    3. To keep data separate between different instruments, new PI Points are created for the new data source. New AF Attributes referencing the new PI Points would also be created for…

  11. Create Multi-State limits based on tags.

On Multi-state limits, we could insert tags/attributes instead a static value. For example, a tank level:
    TAG Tank Level: 333-001-233.PV
    Limit Tag for 90%: TanksChemicals.LIM.HH
    Limit Tag for 80%: TanksChemicals.LIM.HL
    Limit Tag for 30%: TanksChemicals.LIM.LH
    Limit Tag for 15%: TanksChemicals.LIM.LL

And if I have 30 tanks with the same limits on multi-state, I can change the LL limit from 15% to 10% for every one once.

  12. When a user has only Read permissions to all PI Vision display folders, "Save As" gives an undescriptive dialog box

As a PI Vision Admin with 2000 PI Vision users, the unclear dialog box when saving displays has resulted in several Help Desk tickets.

Currently, when the user has Publisher permissions and Write access to any display folder, the "Save As" dialog box shows the folders and allows users to select which folder to save the display. When the user has Publisher permissions and only Read access to the display folders, the "Save As" dialog box is not descriptive, leading to confusion. For these users, the display gets saved to the Home page.

I would like users with Publisher permission…

  13. Pin a PI Vision display in a display folder

When creating several dashboards in the display folder on the PI Vision Home Page, i find it useful to have the ability to pin or highlight one display as my "Home Dashboard". Currently, displays are sorted depending on last used and i would need to search for the home display to find it

  14. Ability to Click on Text Rather than ">" to see what is in a folder

Any other program where I navigate in folders, I can click on the folder name to see the sub-folders inside. In PI Vision, the ">" symbol has to be clicked. I have had to remind people multiple times in site training to click the > and not the name. Is there any way to set it up where clicking the name and clicking the ">" have the same result?

  15. Provide mechanism to delete displays in bulk right in Vision

PI Vision has a built-in mechanism to delete folders, but not their contents. Contents are moved to Home. Additionally, one can select all the contents of a folder, but cannot delete; only move.

Please add the ability to delete contents in bulk either by selecting specific displays or as an option when deleting a folder. It is acceptable, if not expected, that the delete ability is restricted to files owned by the current user.

Yes, files can be deleted in bulk using the PI Vision Display Utility, but not everyone has access to it. I don't. And when using the…

  19. Trend Scale : minimum set to zero when derived template used

We are using PI Vision to display dashboards for our dams around the state. Due to different level measurement systems used for the different types of dams, derived templates are used. Hence, ALL levels/level types can be placed on the one graph and only those that have data for that dam type are displayed. No problem.

However, when viewing a dam level trend from the base template, the graph minimum always reverts to zero; as there's no derived template attribute to use max/min traits/limits for. If NOT using derived template levels in the trend graphic, then the max/min traits are…

  20. Have a fixed start time and a dynamic end time in displays

I have set up several displays showing a process. I want to see the graph of different attributes showing a fixed start time and the end time should be actual time and updated all 5 seconds.
    At the moment it is:
Start Time is based on the time interval i set.
How i would like to have it:
Start time is a fixed date and time. the interval that is shown will scale up automatically because the end time is set as *
