  1. Use AF attribute traits to set symbol scale or limits

As a PI Vision user, I would like to have the option to set the scale or limits of any symbol based on the attribute traits defined in AF. When the symbol contains multiple attributes, it would be useful to be able to select only one attribute to define the scale of the symbol.

PI Vision currently supports this functionality. When the ‘database’ option is selected for a symbol scale, if the attribute has Min and Max traits, the traits will automatically be used to define the scale on the PI Vision symbol.

  2. Multistate Configuration should show the values defined for the limits besides the traits (Maximum, HiHi, Hi, Lo, etc..).

For multistate configuration with AF limits, the customer would like to see the values defined for the limits besides the traits (Maximum, HiHi, Hi, Lo, etc..).

In previous versions the limit trait values were shown in the tooltip if you hovered over the name shown for the limit. In PI Vision 2017 R2 we changed this so that the value is shown in the configuration pane under the name of the limit attribute trait so that you do not need to hover to see these values.

  3. Gauge Symbols with configurable areas

    Dear developers,

we are really missing the gauges as visualization element. It would be good to have them again in the next Version. Similar to the multistate Symbol it would be good to be able defining what is the Minimum and Maximum area.

    Best regards Kerstin Voss

  4. Hide trace

Provide a user with the ability to hide a trace on trends. Basically the user can click on the trend legend (or a check box in the legend table - see other enhancement request) to show/hide the trace.

This functionality exists within process book, so basically replicate the same functionality in Coresight.

Traces can be hidden by right-clicking on the trace in the legend and choosing ‘Hide Trace’. This functionality was added in the 2016 version.

  5. Trend: Shared dynamic scales

For the Trend object I would like to select specific traces to share the same dynamic scale (range of plotted values) while other traces use independent scales.

    Example:
    Depth - Independent scale
Casing psi - share dynamic scale w/ Tubing psi
Tubing psi - share dynamic scale w/ Casing psi
Flow In Rate - share dynamic scale w/ Flow Out Rate
Flow Out Rate - share dynamic scale w/ Flow In Rate
    Alarm Indicator - Independent scale

This is achievable in PI Vision 2016 or later. When the ‘database’ option is selected for a trace’s scale range, if the attribute has Min and Max traits, the traits will automatically be used to define the scale of the trace. The traits can be dynamic. So if 2 traces are to share the same dynamic scale, simply reference their traits to one another. This feature requires PI (AF) Server 2016 or later.

  6. Value multistate in asset comparison table

Add the ability to add multistate to asset comparison table. This should utilize the limits attributes defined in system explorer similar to radial gauges and bar symbols. It could be the back ground or the value that multistates. This would be a great method to provide a dashboard of a large number of process values and quickly identify which values are out of a desired range.

  7. Line with arrows in PI Coresight

It should be possible to draw a line with arrows at the end(s) as it was possible in PI ProcessBook to draw process flow charts.

The ability to configure arrows on the beginning and end of a a line has been completed in the PI Vision 2017 release. Arrows can be configured in the Format Line configuration menu.

  8. Scrolling Table grids in Coresight

Need the ability to have Scrolling tables in Coresight...
Sometimes there's the need to show a really large table.

As Ryan commented, the table symbol will have a scroll bar once you add enough data items. Please check it out and let us know what you think. If you need any further help, please feel free to contact OSIsoft Tech Support.

  9. Table: Allow single value trend

As now if you click on a single row in a table that has multiple values, all values will show in the new trend.
It would be prefferable if only one value or selected valus would show up.

  10. Events Table / Events Dashboard

Support a table that can show event frame data on a process display.  For example, "show me all of the downtime events for the past 24 hours in a table".

The table might be sorted by different columns such as severity, links to Event Details page, and acknowledgement status as well.  See attached picture for one possible idea.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on the Events Table in PI Vision 2017 R2. The Events Table is now out of CTP and includes the ability to add a Reason Code column based on the Event Frame ‘Reason’ attribute trait in AF. Users can edit the reason code and acknowledge Event Frames directly from the table or navigate to the Event Details page to investigate further.

Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about what’s new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

  11. Dashboard or watchlist (in a table)

This would be something similar to the existing MS SharePoint PI Table Web Part. It would be great to see those assets in trouble or meeting a certain criteria (for example, using filters). Similar to the Table Web Part, being able to see the current state as a multi-state (for example, all assets in table, those with a red indicator are in trouble). Tables make good sense for dashboards or watchlists, common needs in condition monitoring or asset health (likely the most common use case for PI). The ability to drill into the next level of the hierarchy with a…

The PI Vision development team has completed work on a new Asset Comparison Table in PI Vision 2017 that allows you to generate a table of assets (rows) and attributes (columns) which can be populated dynamically based on search and filter criteria. This table can also be used with the Drill-in Navigation feature of PI Vision 2017 to link to another display from the Asset Comparison Table with the asset context of the selected row. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

  12. Multistate: Copy Paste and Data Replacement Behaviors

Preserve color schemes for configured multistate symbols when copy/pasting and replacing data items.

Dropping a new value should change both the value and multistate value of the symbol.

  13. Table: Improvements

Be able to put symbols inside of table rows.

    Highlight table rows on mouse-over.

Drive other content on the page when a table row is selected. (connected symbols)

  14. Number Formatting for Value

It would be really useful to have a format definition for a number shown in the value symbol, e.g. according to Microsoft conventions ( https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0c899ak8(v=vs.110).aspx ).

Examples: the value 1234.5678 displayed using various formatting definitions:
    "#####" --> 1235
    "#####.#" --> 1234.6

A configurable radial gauge will be included in PI Coresight 2016 R2. The gauge allows the configuration of pointer style, gauge angle, scale, multi-state, and color configuration.

Thank you for providing your feedback and helping us add the features you want to PI Coresight.

  17. Multistate gauge driven by other attribute than visible value

I want to have drive the multistate behaviour in a gauge from a different source than the visible value. The reason is that i have a calculation in AF that classifies a sampled value in a range of 1 to 5.
I want the 1-5 assessment to drive the multistate, not the tag value.

  18. Pop Up Trend from any symbol

Support seeing a pop up trend from any data symbol on a display from a double click/tap on the symbol (or other UI mechanism like right click context menu).

The ability to directly change from one symbol type to another will be included in PI Coresight 2016 R2. This includes the ability to not only switch between the standard PI Coresight symbols but includes switching between custom symbols added to the system by 3rd parties.

Thanks you for providing your feedback and helping us add the features you want to PI Coresight.

  20. XY Plot

Support an XY plot that is able to visualize data in another dimension other than time.

User story:  As a process engineer, I want to trend one attribute against another (like depth) SO THAT they can visualize the data in context of the other attribute rather than by time.

Need in Coresight XY plotting abilities : mainly like in processbook + overlays of design/signature curves from AF tables. In addition overlays of differents XY curves from event frames would be great. This is really something missing to Coresight to be able to monitor pumps, compressors,…
