  2. Improve display loading performance

Large displays can take 30 seconds or longer to load. Load times are particularly slow in Internet Explorer. Displays needs to load faster.

  3. PI Vision Edge Chromium browser compatibility

As we're going to use Chromium browser as enterprise standard, it would be great if Chromium was officially compatible with PI Vision (case number 00643921).

PI Vision 2019 Patch 1 was tested with and is officially compatible with the new version of Microsoft Edge that is based on Chromium. For additional information on supported browsers please refer to the PI Vision Release Notes.

  4. Imported Processbook Display, Allow option for Scale-Range when open pop-up trend by clicking on Value Symbol

Currently on imported PB display, when clicking on Value Symbol, a pop-up trend will use Auto-Range to set the scale of the trend. I would like to have an the option to use 'Database' setting.

  5. Zooming in trend object should also zoom into the XY plot

Zooming into the trend object doesn't zoom into the XY plot on the same display. I’ll click the left arrow then the right arrow in the time bar to overcome this.

Zooming in on a trend updates the display time range, which in turn will update your XY plot.

If this is not occurring in your display, please contact TechSupport for additional troubleshooting.

  6. Shape Fill continued

When creating a shape in PI vision, you can set the "fill" to empty so as to see behind the shape you made. However, it would be nice if there was a setting that would allow it to "move-to-back" so as to allow a user to click things within the shape while keeping the outline of the shape.

  7. Trending

    Trending Must Haves:

I recently installed PI Vision here and I am getting feedback about the trending capabilities, or the lack there of. Please fix the following in the trends

    1. The ability to click on values on a page and create an Ad-Hoc Trend. This is another major need.

    2. Need to add descriptors to trends

    3. MUST BE ABLE to un-zoom in a trend and keep your current place in time. For example if I have a 24 hour trend and I scroll back 10 days and then zoom in, when I un-zoom I still want to be back 10 days…

A few of the items mentioned in this request have been completed, and others are being tracked separately so I have closed this item. Please see links below to the related requests:

    1. This feature has been added in PI Vision 2019: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/19529974

    2. This request is being tracked by this item: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/19734682

    3. This is possible on trends in displays by undo-ing the trend zoom action with Ctrl+Z. Undo functionality was added to popup trends in PI Vision 2019: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517/suggestions/16052407

    4. This functionality has been added in PI Vision 2019: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517/suggestions/18710188

    5. This request is being tracked by this item: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/10622769

    6. This request is being tracked by this item: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/36381235

  8. Trend: Show data item descriptions

Be able to view the tag/attribute descriptions on the bottom of the trend the same way that you are able to in ProcessBook. For those of us with large DB, it is very important to have this functionality.

In PI Vision 2020, we added labeling options to the trend symbol (and other symbols) to show element/tag/attribute name, tag/attribute description, or custom text. This allows you to configure the trend legend to show data item descriptions.

For more information, see the PI Vision 2020 release announcement here:
    https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000031641

If your feedback request includes the ability to change the positioning of the legend in the trend symbol, please subscribe to the feedback item here:
    https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/32365312-allow-configuration-of-trend-legend-position

  9. Show a tooltip or change cursor Icon on Vision when hovering over Processbook Button

When hovering over a button on a ProcessBook display the cursor changes its shape to notify users that there is a button present. When importing the display over to Vision the cursor does not change and makes it difficult for users to know that a button is present when sharing the display with other users.

Suggest placing a tooltip or introducing a selection cursor when hovering over the button on Vision.

When hovering over a button on an imported PB display, the cursor changes icons to indicate the button is clickable.

If this is not the case for you, please contact TechSupport to investigate.

  10. Display hand when hovering over objects with Navigation Links

When hovering with the mouse over a display object that has a Navigation Link attached to it, the mouse cursor should change to a hand when not in edit mode and it should navigate on single-click instead of having to double-click.

In PI Vision 2019, navigation links are now more discoverable on a display. When hovering over a symbol with a navigation link, the mouse cursor will change to indicate that there is a link and the symbol’s tooltip will display the configured hyperlink.

Navigating is now done using a single-click instead of a double-click for all symbols except for the trend, where a double-click is still required so that single-click trend interactions (trend cursor, highlighting a trace) are still possible.

  11. Trend: Edit trace name in legend or be able to add a description

Edit the trace name or add a description in the legend of a trend in order to:

    1) Make clear the description of the Attribute in the trend
    2) Use an abbreviation for the attribute description in the trend legend
    3) Use a different language in the legend while respecting the attribute name (for example, an attribute name is written in English in PI System Explorer but we would like to see Italian in the Coresight trend)

  14. Trend: Vertical gridlines

Plots such as the pad trends, could benefit from grid lines to help quantify the changes over time.  The horizontal axis has decent grid definition between the grey and the black, but the lack of vertical axis makes it hard to compare day to day comparisons.

This request sounds like you would like to invert one data item on a trend symbol while keeping other data items non-inverted. This is possible by configuring the trace scale range to “Set limits for this trace” and “Invert Scale”.

  16. Trend Zoom - Undo

I need the ability to undo, revert time ranges or go back a step or steps when zooming in on data in a trend. Currently the only way to do this that I'm aware of is to start from scratch with your default time range at the bottom.

When in full screen mode (pop-up) for a trend the only option you have is to go back and from there you have to start from scratch again.

Being able to undo/revert time ranges would definitely increase the usability and make analyzing data more efficient.

In PI Vision 2019, it is now possible to undo zoom actions in the popup trend. Undo/redo buttons have been added, and the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Z will also work to undo.

For trends on PI Vision displays, Ctrl+Z will continue to work to undo zoom actions.

    COMPLETED  ·  Alicia Coppock responded

The PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the “Fit-all” option to be saved with a display in PI Vision 2017. Displays saved with “Fit-all” will automatically resize to fit within the browser window. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

  19. Busy Indicator

It would be useful to have an indication that the data is still being loaded. Currently when you add an attribute to the display, change the time range of a display, execute a dynamic search, etc you don't get an indication that something is happening. Some of our operations are quite far away with limited bandwidth.

  20. Multistate Attribute name not shown

When configuring a Multistate tag, the right hand side setup panel comes up. No matter who much space is given, the whole tag name is never shown. (Example: Make Up Water System| Manual_L...) There has to be a way to see what tag is attached not just (...)

The previous recommended solution to see the full tag name by hovering over the item is still valid.

Since we have received no further details for this feedback item, we will mark this as complete.
