The PI Vision development team completed work on a new Pinned Events feature in PI Vision 2017 that allows one or more reference events to be specified and saved on an Event Comparison display. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features released in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

  2. Table: Allow single value trend

As now if you click on a single row in a table that has multiple values, all values will show in the new trend.
It would be prefferable if only one value or selected valus would show up.

A number of configuration enhancements are included in PI Coresight 2016 R2. These enhancements include:
    - Set the min/max scale for gauges and trends
    - Set the Y scale on a trend on a per data item basis
    - Set the color, thickness, and line style for a trace line
    - Control the list order of data items in the legend
    - Set the foreground and background color for the trend

  4. Events Table / Events Dashboard

Support a table that can show event frame data on a process display.  For example, "show me all of the downtime events for the past 24 hours in a table".

The table might be sorted by different columns such as severity, links to Event Details page, and acknowledgement status as well.  See attached picture for one possible idea.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on the Events Table in PI Vision 2017 R2. The Events Table is now out of CTP and includes the ability to add a Reason Code column based on the Event Frame ‘Reason’ attribute trait in AF. Users can edit the reason code and acknowledge Event Frames directly from the table or navigate to the Event Details page to investigate further.

Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about what’s new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

  5. Quick Filter on Assets Dropdown for Element Relative

The Asset dropdown that allows user to change context should support ability to search as the user types.  This is a necessity when there are more assets that fit on a single page.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on a filter in the related assets selector on displays in PI Vision 2017 R2 so users can quickly find an asset in the list. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other new features. 6. Select which Template is used for Switch Asset

When using Element Relative Display and Switch Asset, allow for selecting which Template of the current Asset is used for searching when is using templates that are derived from other templates.

The current search appears to only be based on the most derived Template but the display may be valid for a common base template shared by different types of assets.

A dropdown could be shown in the Switch Asset selector when the current asset is using derived templates to help filter.

  7. Allow ?Asset= to use all the derived templates under a base template as correct matches

Attempting to use the parameters reference to reuse a display using the ?Asset= approach.

All my assets at one level are based on the the same template with a couple of them derived from that template.

This approach seems to require the template to be an exact match and not derived from the same template - is that the case?

It would be far more useful to me if I could build one display based on the "building dashboard" template and then use it on that template and all derived templates as they will have the same "base" attributes.

Enhancements to the Asset= parameter in PI Vision 2017 allow for the use of assets from derived templates of a PI Vision display. In addition, PI Vision 2017 R2 introduced the ability to configure the asset template, asset category or asset name filter used for the asset selector on a display.

  8. Manually Enter Event (EF) Attributes (like a Reason Code)

I'd like to manually enter data into event (event frame) attributes from PI Coresight.  The most common example of this are attributes such as a Reason Code for an excursion or downtime event, but there are other examples as well.

The PI Vision development team has completed work to allow users to edit the value of Event Frame reason attributes (based on the new Reason attribute trait in PI AF 2017 R2) on the Event Table and Event Details page in PI Vision 2017 R2. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other new features. 9. Dashboard or watchlist (in a table)

This would be something similar to the existing MS SharePoint PI Table Web Part. It would be great to see those assets in trouble or meeting a certain criteria (for example, using filters). Similar to the Table Web Part, being able to see the current state as a multi-state (for example, all assets in table, those with a red indicator are in trouble). Tables make good sense for dashboards or watchlists, common needs in condition monitoring or asset health (likely the most common use case for PI). The ability to drill into the next level of the hierarchy with a…

The PI Vision development team has completed work on a new Asset Comparison Table in PI Vision 2017 that allows you to generate a table of assets (rows) and attributes (columns) which can be populated dynamically based on search and filter criteria. This table can also be used with the Drill-in Navigation feature of PI Vision 2017 to link to another display from the Asset Comparison Table with the asset context of the selected row. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

  10. Multistate: Copy Paste and Data Replacement Behaviors

Preserve color schemes for configured multistate symbols when copy/pasting and replacing data items.

Dropping a new value should change both the value and multistate value of the symbol.

  12. Make any Coresight object a link

Make any Coresight object a link. Rather than only be able to navigate using buttons, it would be nice for style/intuitive use to be able to make a text label a link, or a rectangle/circle/etc.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on Drill-in Navigation in PI Vision 2017 that enables linking to a URL or another PI Vision display from any symbol on a display with options to pass the asset context of the selected symbol and the time range of the display. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. 13. Table: Improvements

    Highlight table rows on mouse-over.

Drive other content on the page when a table row is selected. (connected symbols)

  15. Multi-state color palette

I would like to be able to select custom HTML colors for Multi-state elements. The current color grid seems like it's locked down to 16 pre-determined colors.

  16. Support installation on Windows Server Core

Support installation on Windows Server Core with the standard install kit. Server Core requires fewer patches, uses fewer resources and has a smaller attack surface than the full GUI version of Windows Server.

  18. MultiState symbol with limit traits should show both the trait name and attribute name if they differ.

When user have renamed the limit trait attribute name (for example HiHi ->Critial Temperature) and uses the trait within a multistate symbol the trait name rather then the trait attribute name shows up for the mutlistate configuration, either both should show or allow for the user to chose which to see (or see by default). The limit trait attribute names does show within Coresight AF hierarchy, there should be an explicit relationship displayed associating the multistate intervals and the trait attribute names.

This behavior has been changed so that the attribute name is now what is shown in the configuration pane and the corresponding limit trait name is now shown in the tooltip if you hover over the attribute name that is shown.

  19. Library of standard graphical symbols

Make a library of standard graphical symbols available. Things like pumps, motors, valves, etc. so that they can be used to make process mimics using consistent images.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on a new Graphics Library in PI Vision 2017 that provides a standard set of process and industry symbols can be used to create process diagrams and uniform representation of assets. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. 20. Number Formatting for Value

It would be really useful to have a format definition for a number shown in the value symbol, e.g. according to Microsoft conventions ( https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0c899ak8(v=vs.110).aspx ).

Examples: the value 1234.5678 displayed using various formatting definitions:
    "#####" --> 1235
    "#####.#" --> 1234.6
