  1. Related Assets: Handle relative parent and child element attributes when swapping asset context

Be able to handle attributes or parent or children from a swapped asset on a element relative display so that their values resolve correctly.

User story: As a process engineer, I want to be able to build a well display with data from the well’s child assets or parent assets (the field) and have the application swap the appropriate asset context (the well) when I swap the assets SO THAT I can leverage the hierarchical structure on AF that I have built.

The PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the configuration of related assets for displays in PI Vision 2017 R2. This includes the ability to swap parent and child assets for child assets with consistent naming. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about what’s new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

  2. View Read-Only Access for Coresight users

Allow a PI Coresight Admin to provide viewing (read-only) access to a subset of users. These users will not have the ability to save new displays.

An example might be a university where they would like to give students viewing read-only access to displays available in the system.

    ===
Note that this request is different than a kiosk mode which does limit creation of new displays, but does not allow a user to search for data items, perform ad hoc creation of symbols, and does not enable navigation from the displays page.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 106679.

The PI Vision development team has released a new Explorer user type in PI Vision 2017. Explorer users can view and manipulate existing displays and create ad-hoc displays for investigation, but cannot save displays. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216.

  3. Assign Displays to Groups of Users

Be able to restrict read access of displays to a group of users.

Provide ability to be able to create display groups in PI Coresight
Provide ability to be able to assign displays to groups.
Provide ability for admin to be able to remove groups, or modify displays contained within groups.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 82110.

PI Coresight 2016 includes a feature that allows a display owner to share a display with a specific group of users. Management of security groups is controlled by an Administrator using PI-AF identities (which can be tied to Active Directory groups). Group sharing applies to native PI Coresight displays and imported PI ProcessBook displays.

  4. Trend: Configure Trace Colors

Be able to configure the trace colors on a trend.

A number of trend configuration enhancements will be included in PI Coresight 2016 R2. These enhancements include:
    - Set the Y scale on a per data item basis
    - Set the color, thickness, and line style for a trace line
    - Control the list order of data items in the legend
    - Set the foreground and background color for the trend

Thank you for providing your feedback and helping us add the features you want to PI Coresight.

The PI Vision development team has completed work on mutliple symbol selection and grouping in PI Vision 2017. In design mode, you can click and drag to select multiple symbols on a display and then group them so they can be moved and copied together. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216.

  9. Specify a ProcessBook display using its name in the URL

Description: Customers would like to be able to directly access their ProcessBook displays in PI Coresight using a format that is not based on the internal display ID of the display. There are two known use cases for this. One is the case where a display is migrated through development and QA systems prior to going to the final production system. In this case, they would like to keep the same URL (or be able to predictably generate a URL) to access the display regardless of which state it is in. Another use case is for creating button links to…

  10. Gauge: Support many different types of gauges

Support several (~5-10) different types of good looking gauges within the application that have a variety of different visual treatments.

A configurable radial gauge will be included in PI Coresight 2016 R2. The gauge allows the configuration of pointer style, gauge angle, scale, multi-state, and color configuration.

Thank you for providing your feedback and helping us add the features you want to PI Coresight.
    The PI Coresight Development Team.

  11. Symbol: Text Label

As a PI Coresight user I want to add labels (text) to my display so that it is easier to interpret the data being shown.

Also, as a PI Coresight user I want a label symbol to support a URL so that when I select it I navigate to other web content, including the ability to open other PI Coresight displays with pre-defined URL parameters.

  12. Kiosk Mode: Show/hide toolbar/time bar of a display using URL Parameters

Enhancement Request: Provide the ability to show and/or hide the toolbar and/or time range when browsing to PI Coresight displays.

Customer Issue: PI Coresight is being integrated into customer dashboards. As such, more customization of the Coresight chrome is being requested to fully utilize the space afforded PI Coresight into these dashboards. There are scenarios where the toolbar and/or time bar are not needed along with the display currently being shown in the PI Coresight area of the dashboard.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 103986.

  14. Support loading Coresight search results in smaller sets (paging)

Provide ability to return smaller sets of search results, which are a manageable size, as well as the ability to return the next set of results when needed by the user.

Customer Issue: Customers may issue searches in PI Coresight, or browse into an AF element, which returns large numbers of results (on the magnitude of tens or hundreds of thousands). This can result in the search taking so long to return that it times out. In addition, if the search does return, it can be very difficult to navigate and explore through a large number of search results, using…

  16. Trend: Configure Multiple Scales

I would like to set the scaling for the y-axis on the trend instead of auto scaling everywhere so that I can view my data exactly how I'm used to seeing it.

Configure it so that it's not dependent on a data item configuration.

  18. Trend: Invert Scales

I want to configure and invert the number scales on the y-axis of a trend so 0 is on top and 1000s are on the bottom so that I'm looking at drilling drilling depth data, the traces trend downward, just like the drill.

  19. Hide system and intermediate attributes in Search Results

Provide the ability, in PI Coresight, to hide particular classifications of AF attributes that are not desired to be returned in search results. These attributes could either be system attributes (as designated by AF) which do not contain meaningful data, or AF attributes that have not been configured.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 98395.

Available using the HIDE/EXCLUDE setting in PI System Explorer.

  20. Specify a domain account for the search crawler

The default account used for the Crawler service to index the allowed service might not have the correct permissions to create the index. If this occurs, the PI Coresight Admin needs to open the Services applet and change the password and restart the service. Specifying an appropriately privileged user account during installation mitigates this problem.
