Administrator access
administrator should have access to all displays
1 voteAdministrators have access to all displays with the ‘Show private displays’ option on the PI Vision home page. This functionality was introduced in the PI Vision 2017 R2 release.

Use AF attribute traits to set symbol scale or limits
As a PI Vision user, I would like to have the option to set the scale or limits of any symbol based on the attribute traits defined in AF. When the symbol contains multiple attributes, it would be useful to be able to select only one attribute to define the scale of the symbol.
30 votesPI Vision currently supports this functionality. When the ‘database’ option is selected for a symbol scale, if the attribute has Min and Max traits, the traits will automatically be used to define the scale on the PI Vision symbol.
-
Multistate Configuration should show the values defined for the limits besides the traits (Maximum, HiHi, Hi, Lo, etc..).
For multistate configuration with AF limits, the customer would like to see the values defined for the limits besides the traits (Maximum, HiHi, Hi, Lo, etc..).
24 votesIn previous versions the limit trait values were shown in the tooltip if you hovered over the name shown for the limit. In PI Vision 2017 R2 we changed this so that the value is shown in the configuration pane under the name of the limit attribute trait so that you do not need to hover to see these values.

Allow a way to clean up the Display Management "To" list of users
Customer has many more users appearing in the display management To list than the from list. He is wondering why being or having been a display owner at some is sufficient to remain in this list. Could there be a means to delete unneeded users from this "To" list?
3 votesYou can use “User Settings” on the admin portal to remove a user from the drop-down list by clearing its settings. Please check out the functionality and let us know what you think. Thank you for your feedback!

Shortcut to collapse all groups at once in the PIML Web Grid View
By default in the PI Manual Logger Grid view, all groups are displayed in the expanded state. To minimize clutter on the screen, some users like to work with all groups collapsed except for the group they are currently working with. To facilitate this workflow, it would be helpful to have a "Collapse all/Expand all" control to collapse or expand all groups at once in the grid view.

Much richer dashboard look and feel properties to tune
a. The canvas colour cannot be changed through a user-friendly control. The 2016 R2 version requires fiddling with the CSS in order to change canvas colour. Or, one must resort to overlaying a filled rectangle. Not elegant, on both accounts.
b. Various font sizes, types and colours cannot be changed. Only trace color and style can be changed in PI Coresight 2016. However, the text in the trace side bar cannot be adjusted.
c. The text blocks change text size based upon block size and cannot be independently changed.
d. Better graphic element layout helpers (like snap, grid, group, even…
5 votesSome items in this request have been completed, and others are in separate items so that we can track them individually.
The ability to set the canvas color was added in PI Vision 2017.

Auto resize when opening display
Automatically fit all when a display is opened.
53 votesThe PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the “Fit-all” option to be saved with a display in PI Vision 2017. Displays saved with “Fit-all” will automatically resize to fit within the browser window. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

URL Parameter to configure value scale
Add scale mode to the URL parameters to allow for pre-selection of single or multiple scales.
28 votesThe PI Vision development team has implemented a setting for the Symbol URL parameter allowing multiple scales to be toggled on or off for ad-hoc trends in PI Vision 2017 R2. By default multiple scales will be shown, to use single scale instead add the parameter: Symbol=trend;MultipleScales=false
Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other new features. You can read about what’s new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

Gauge Symbols with configurable areas
Dear developers,
we are really missing the gauges as visualization element. It would be good to have them again in the next Version. Similar to the multistate Symbol it would be good to be able defining what is the Minimum and Maximum area.
Best regards Kerstin Voss
7 votesThe radial gauge was re-introduced in PI Coresight 2016 R2 and allows specifying minimum and maximum scale values.

Hide trace
Provide a user with the ability to hide a trace on trends. Basically the user can click on the trend legend (or a check box in the legend table - see other enhancement request) to show/hide the trace.
This functionality exists within process book, so basically replicate the same functionality in Coresight.
9 votesTraces can be hidden by right-clicking on the trace in the legend and choosing ‘Hide Trace’. This functionality was added in the 2016 version.

PI Vision trend dynamic scales with attribute values
PI Vision trend should have dynamic scales according with the attribute values (limits).
6 votesThis feature is available in PI Vision 2016 or later. It can be accomplished by leveraging dynamic AF attribute traits, which was introduced in PI Server 2016.
-
Alignment of values within an element
Ability to left, centre and right align text so that when values change, they stay aligned with sibling elements. For instance, a value of 1,000psi going down to 0psi will align itself back to the left but it would be preferable to align to the right so that units line up.
1 votePI Vision 2017 R2 introduced the ability to horizontally align the text within value symbols (left, center or right)

multiscale: fix scale manually
Hello,
When I switch to "multiple scale" there is no possibility to add the values per scale manually!
1 voteIn PI Vision, it’s possible to adjust the scale minimum and maximum values whether you’re using single or multiple scales. When multiple scales are enabled, you can see a unique scale for each trace on the trend. You can manually adjust the scale for each trace in the “Trace Options” within the Trend Format configuration pane.

Small scroll increment of trend time in PI Vision
Need to be able to make smaller than 1 interval change on time scroll. Example: if displaying 1H of data, user can scroll 1H increments. I would like to scroll in 1H increments or 15 minute increments. this help navigating to right time period.
1 voteScrolling time in small increments can be done if you mouse over the bottom portion of a trend. When doing this, your mouse cursor will change to a hand that can be used to drag the time range forward or backwards in time in small increments. The increment is determined by how far you drag. This functionality was introduced in the 2016 version.

Allow combining processbook and native PI Vision folders
Allow combining ProcessBook folders and native Processbook folders (i.e procbook displays and native pi vision displays will reside in one folder); allow building hierarchies using both types of folders at the same time
3 votesThis is supported in PI Vision 2017 R2. Native PI Vision displays can be created in the same folder containing ProcessBook displays. Because the ProcessBook display folder structure is created and managed based on the Windows file system, ProcessBook displays cannot be moved within the PI Vision app, but PI Vision displays can be moved to ProcessBook folders from within the app.

AF URL attribute object in PI Vision
PI Vision should have a object that gives functionality to open URL´s from AF attributes.
It is possibel to use URL´s in AF attributes, it is even possible to open them from system explorer.
PI Vision should recon that it is a URL when you drag it into the design pane and automatically create a text object with the URL.92 votesThe PI Vision development team has completed work to allow URLs in value and table symbols to act as live hyperlinks on displays in PI Vision 2017 R2. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about what’s new in PI Vision 2017 R2 in the release announcement: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01278

Importing PI Data Into A Spreadsheet
Can I get the PI data and import it into a spreadsheet? Who can I call for assistance with PI?
1 voteAs John commented, this functionality is already available in PI Vision. Please contact OSIsoft Tech Support if you need any further help. Thanks for your feedback!

scroll to zoom in/out of display or set zoom %
scroll to zoom in to a display instead of clicking + or -, or select zoom percentage
5 votesThe ability to zoom on a display by scrolling was added in the 2016 version. This can be done by holding Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel.
-
Fit All action should also be able to zoom in
The current version does not zoom in on the Fit-All action, only zoom out. So it only scales down, but not up. The Fit All feature in PI ProcessBook is doing both zoom in and out.
15 votesIn PI Vision 2017 R2, the ‘Fit All’ behavior on displays was updated to enable zooming a display to fit the window.
