  1. Trend line Colors

Trend lines colors should always stay the same. In other words if point 1 is deleted from a trend the point that becomes point 1 should assume the color assigned to point 1. This would be consistent with Processbook

  2. When building a trend in PI ProcessBook could a copy of multiple cells in Excel with tag names be pasted into the "Tags in Plot:"

When building a trend in PI ProcessBook could a copy of multiple cells in Excel with tag names be pasted into the "Tags in Plot:". Currently a paste of such a copy results in only the first cell contents in the tags list. It would be great to copy multiple tag names and paste into the "Tags in Plot:" and get all of the tags added to the trend.

After 25 years, OSIsoft is retiring PI ProcessBook using a phased approach over several years. PI ProcessBook was the leading face of PI System for many years, paving the way for self-service visualization. Since then, technology and your expectations around mobility, scalability, and collaboration have evolved beyond what PI ProcessBook can deliver. OSIsoft has been actively developing and investing in PI Vision to provide you that next-generation, modern visualization experience.

For additional information regarding the retirement of PI ProcessBook, please see https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000031882.

  3. Allow Recrawling Indexed Search Databases Directly from PI Vision

As a PI Vision user, I would like PI Vision to have the ability to initiate a PI Web API Indexed Search database recrawl from the PI Vision web application itself, instead of requiring an administrator to navigate to the Indexed Search Admin page to do this. This would allow users to make newly created assets appear in the search results on demand. This ability could be limited to a specific set of privileged users.

  4. Create PI ProcessBook Support Tool add-in to replace data sets in PB displays with other data references before migrating to PI Vision

As described in PI System Analytics: Which tool is best for the job? (https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=KB00868), OSIsoft recommends using asset analytics instead of PI Calculation data sets to create calculations that are available across the PI System and perform at scale.

To ease the migration from PI ProcessBook to PI Vision, it would be helpful if OSIsoft created a PI ProcessBook Support Tool add-in to replace data sets in PB displays with other data references, such as PI tags. Once a customer has created analyses to replace PB calculation data sets, such an add-in would allow them to update existing…

  5. AF Templates with no data or pi tag not found

We have an AF structure that uses templates for a few device types. Our templates are setup to resolve PI tags for the device if we have them available. If we don't, it says PI Tag Not Found - which is fine. Once the device is added in the field (out of the office), that AF element will update and work.

When in PI Vision, the user gets thousands of errors saying the PI tag is not found. I would like an option in PSE to set the element attribute to ignore the error if the tag is not found,…

  7. Have Digital Signatures for PI ProcessBook VBA

Have "Digital Signatures" option enabled in PI ProcessBook in order to make macros more secure.

  8. Email errors to administrator

Provide a way to quickly email an administrator an error message seen on a display. Message should include the context of the issue (corresponding display, symbol, data item, etc).

  9. Allow sharing access to data when sharing a display

When a user shares a display, give the option to allow them to share the data contained in the display (PI tags/AF elements and attributes) with the AF identities that the display is shared with.

  10. Provide a way to share display URLs via auto-generated email

Provide a way to send an email from a display that includes a URL to that display.

Provide a way to multi-select displays on the home page and send the URLs of those displays in an email.

  12. Allow users to request access to data

If a user doesn't have access to view the data associated with data items (tags/attributes) on a display, provide a way for them to be able to request access to the data.

  13. Prevent users from opening display if they don't have access to data

If a user does not have access to any of the data items (tags/attributes) on a display, they should not be able to open that display.

  14. Use Attributes as Timestamps in PI-Vision

    Hi,

Currently I'm working on a display which should always show the last event of a machine.
I know there are event frames, but I think it would be nice if there was a way to use attributes as the start time and end time of a display's time span.

In this way, it would be possible to change the timestamps of the display dynamically and you would only see the relevant period.

  15. PI Vision Displays Management Process

    Hi,
We have noticed as PI Vision gets adopted, organization of displays and content is becoming more and more cumbersome.
It has become obvious that PI Vision is easy enough for any average person to design good quality displays that could be considered as part of the company's knowledge retention strategy.
Therefore, similar to the concept of crowed sourcing, our vision is to "crowed design" in which James Dryden described it best in a reply Group Ownership Of A Display - PI Vision 2017 .
I can envision a system in which users save personal copies of "published" shared displays…

  16. Fit-all button for imported Processbook display.

When you open an imported PB display, PI Vision would automatically fit-all for your screen. However, after you click zoom-in several times, there is no quick way to come back to fit-all size because there is no fit-all button.

Fit-all button is available on the normal PI Vision display, so I hope it's possible to add this button for imported PB Display too.

  17. Help visualizing data in trend cursor if they are spikes surrounded by null values

If a trend contains values (digital or numerical) that are surrounded by NULL values (empty) these would appear as spikes in a trend. If I want to pull a cursor to inspect this spike, it's difficult to center it where the value is... hence, facilitating the user to put the cursor on the value to display it would be a good feature. This is for Gestamp.

  18. Possibility to view subsecond timestamp in trend cursor, even when display time span is bigger than 5 seconds

Currently, the cursor reports the subsecond timestamp only if the display context is 5s. Why? Can't it just be always reporting subsecond timestamp? Could it be an option?

  19. Pen Color property for attribute

Have the ability to set a pen color for an attribute in Element Template and have PIVision use this. For example, I want to set Temperature as Green for all my trends. So when I look at hundreds of trends a day, I don't have to check every time if I am looking at Temperature or Pressure. By pen color you automatically know what attribute you are looking at on PIVision displays (assuming all trends built with using the pen color from database).

  20. Support for Active Directory groups in PI Manual Logger PC Client

PI Manual Logger Web PC Client does not support AD groups currently. SQL Server and PI Identities that need to be setup support AD groups. The same AD groups should be used for Tour access so it is a cleaner way to manage routes (typically using IT Desk at companies) rather than manually adding and removing users on the PC Client.
