  1. Display Slope/Derivative of PI Vision Trend

    Users can easily make a plot of a process value as a function of time. It may be useful to know how that process value changes with time, so users would benefit from having an easy way to analyze the slope (derivative) of a process value as a function of time.

  2. Improve ad-hoc calc tool

    The recently added "calculations" could be very useful but in reality is of limited use because it bogs down the system and cannot be used over long periods of time (years). PHD / Uniformance, the tool we used before PI Vision, was easily able to graph complex calculations over many years without issue.

  3. Calculations in should automatically apply to attribute trait

    If an AF calculation which involves a single AF attribute, that calculations in PI Vision should automatically be applied to the child trait attributes.

    For example, I monitor a tag against a Hi and Lo limit and apply a multi-state to distinguish if I am in control or not. I now compute an hourly total in on that tag, I want the hourly total of the Hi and Lo limit to be automatically computed so that I can apply a multi-state on the value of that hourly total.

  4. show details and annotations

    There is a useful function in PI Processbook called show details and annotations. which can show the time-serised data in a window for a tag in trend. Also I can see which two data point is used to calculate the value I point at.

  7. Enable clipboard capture of cursor values

    When I drop a cursor on the trend symbol, I can see the current value at the cursor's timestamp of all trend traces in a small side pop-up. I would like to be able to copy to clipboard these so I can use them in an email, or in another report.

    Now I have to take down by hand these values and manually pass those around, all pronged to errors and cumbersome operation.

  8. Ability to see multiple incremental scales in adhoc display

    Right now you can have multiple scales but for all but one scale only the min and max value are displayed on the trend. Would be helpful to have incremental scale values for all scales displayed at the left of the trend. For example in the attached image the orange scale you only see the min and max value whereas for the blue scale you see multiple values.

  9. Make the results of the PI Vision Calculations reusable

    Example:
    Calc1 = a * b
    Calc2 = Calc1 + c

  10. Ability to show values near the pen lines rather than at the top of the trend (adhoc trending)

    Ability to show values in an adhoc trend at the pen line rather than at the top. When comparing a large number of data items it is hard to distinguish the different values when they are all listed at the top of the trend

  11. Ability to add tags to the adhoc workspace (without closing workspace)

    When viewing data in the adhoc workspace there is no way to add additional tags without first closing the adhoc workspace. When you close the adhoc workspace only data items on the current display can be easily added to the adhoc workspace. Would be nice to be able to search additional data items to add to the workspace in case they are not on the existing display.

  12. Need to be able to trend calculations or constants (limits)

    I cannot reproduce this in PI Vision. I need to be able to add limit lines to trends. I previously did this by adding a PI calculation set at a constant value.

  13. Adhoc Trends be able to change trace colors

    Be able to change trace colors on adhoc displays, this would be useful where i need to be able to show upper and lower limits in a different color (ie red, yellow) to the process value (ie cyan) the standard colors dont reflect the alarms levels very well

  14. Possibility to add more than 2 most recent points to XY Plots for better analysis

    We would like the possibility of configuring more than 2 most recent points in XY plots to better understand the trend of equipment readings in the past. A better comparison can be made with recent points with different colors and more data in the graph.

  17. Display the value of the selected trend in bigger characters

    When analysing multiple trends, it would be useful to display the value of the selected trend in bigger characters in order to easily identify it.

  19. PI Vision URL Parameter for Ad-Hoc Displays to Show Periodic Interpolated Values

    For ad-hoc displays, can we add a URL parameter to indicate a sampling / interpolation duration? We can put in start time and end time, but instead of getting the raw value is it possible to, for instance, request interpolated results at 1h time blocks, similar to the sampled data call in PI DataLink?

  20. Dynamic representation of PctGood() function in PI Vision

    Looking for the ability to extract percentage good from “Min percent good” value calculated by Value Retrieval Methods analysis for a specified time range and link it to an AF Attribute to display the value in PI Vision. Value can then be recalculated dynamically depending on the time duration configured by the client (PI Vision). Analysis with PctGood() function does not allow ad-hoc time range manipulations by clients.

    Working example: End-user opens a PI Vision display with a fixed start time and end time (midnight to midnight) to visualise “Percent good” for a certain attribute. The quality of the archived…
