  1. Allow uploading images larger than 2 megabytes

Right now, users can only upload images up to 2 megabytes in size; while I realize that there are reasons for this, it'd be great to be able to configure that size cap through a web.config file setting, for example.

  2. CTP feature XY Plot and Eventstable documentaion

In PI Vision 2017 documentation, CTP feature xy plot and eventstable can be unlocked via following command:
    AFDiag /FeatureFlag=

However, this command only works upto.... more recent AF Server versionss. There is a need to know for PI Administrators which AF Server version is required to use XY Plot and EventsTable from PI Vision 2017+.

The requirement of AF Server version was added to the admin guide. Besides, the symbols are no longer in CTP; they are now officially supported.

  3. Dynamic Collection Criteria Search Root

I would like to be able to dynamically change my collection criteria search root, based on the drop-down asset, so that the collection is element relative. This way, I don't have to create multiple collection displays.

  5. Value multistate in asset comparison table

Add the ability to add multistate to asset comparison table. This should utilize the limits attributes defined in system explorer similar to radial gauges and bar symbols. It could be the back ground or the value that multistates. This would be a great method to provide a dashboard of a large number of process values and quickly identify which values are out of a desired range.

  6. Multistate Text Blink Functionality

When multistate blink is configured for text, the text itself does not blink alone.  A box is generated to appear behind the text and blinks along with it.  Can there be an option to only have the text blink?

When configuring multi-state, there is an option to set the background color to be transparent. Please check it out and let us know what you think!

  7. Export display to CSV file

Ability to export data from the screen to CSV file.
It's important to generate the file in CSV format rather than XML for multiple reasons:
    1. It is what the engineers expect
    2. It opens in Excel by default (the XML file opens great in Excel, but the default program is the web browser)
    3. It is supported by other engineering applications

We'd like to see some enhancements for the format of the data in the exported data file.
The first "Display" tab is fine in the current version (it compares interpolated data for multiple data sources at specific time…

  8. Shortcut to collapse all groups at once in the PIML Web Grid View

By default in the PI Manual Logger Grid view, all groups are displayed in the expanded state.  To minimize clutter on the screen, some users like to work with all groups collapsed except for the group they are currently working with.  To facilitate this workflow, it would be helpful to have a "Collapse all/Expand all" control to collapse or expand all groups at once in the grid view.

  9. PI Manual Logger: Option for Web App to default to Grid View

In PI Manual Logger Web, there is a Grid Data Entry view, and a List Data Entry view.  The current default is the List view.  However, many users only use the Grid view.  It would be nice to have an option, such as a url parameter, that has a Tour Run default to the Grid view.

  10. Configure asset dropdown AF hierarchy root

As a PI Vision display author, I want to configure an AF hierarchy root for the asset drop-down menu on my display so that my end users only see assets in the menu from the part of the AF hierarchy that I choose.

The PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the configuration of related assets for displays in PI Vision 2017 R2 including the ability to specify an AF hierarchy root. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. 11. Much richer dashboard look and feel properties to tune

    a.      The canvas colour cannot be changed through a user-friendly control. The 2016 R2 version requires fiddling with the CSS in order to change canvas colour. Or, one must resort to overlaying a filled rectangle. Not elegant, on both accounts.

    b.      Various font sizes, types and colours cannot be changed. Only trace color and style can be changed in PI Coresight 2016. However, the text in the trace side bar cannot be adjusted.

    c.      The text blocks change text size based upon block size and cannot be independently changed.

    d.      Better graphic element layout helpers (like snap, grid, group, even…

Display organization is already implemented in PI Vision 2017 R2 SP1.

  13. Allow display sharing to any AF identity for Administrators

Currently limited to AF identities that my useraccount is explicitly part of. However, any Coresight admin should be allowed to share displays to any AF identity.

Now as an Admin, i need to reassign display ownership to a specific person in a group (AF identity) and ask them to share the display. Not ideal for central authoring of displays.

In PI Vision 2017 R2, the PI Vision home page was updated to allow administrators to share a display with any identity.

  14. Improve Handling of Excluded Attributes in Symbols

Currently, Symbols display "No Data" when an excluded attribute has been selected. This typically occurs when customers are navigating from one asset to another using the Switch Asset feature. This error can be confusing to the end user. In order to minimize confusion, a different approach should be taken such as not showing the symbol, showing N/A as a value for the symbol, or graying out symbol/values for excluded attributes.

The PI Vision 2017 R2 release included enhancements to symbols to better support excluded attributes. If attributes are flagged as “excluded” in an AF hierarchy, values will not be
displayed in the table symbol and asset comparison table in PI Vision. Other symbols
will display “N/A” for excluded attributes.

  15. Scrolling Table grids in Coresight

Need the ability to have Scrolling tables in Coresight...

  16. Line with arrows in PI Coresight

  19. Gauge Symbols with configurable areas

    Dear developers,

we are really missing the gauges as visualization element. It would be good to have them again in the next Version. Similar to the multistate Symbol it would be good to be able defining what is the Minimum and Maximum area.

    Best regards Kerstin Voss
