Like in PI ProcessBook you could use the Preferences section to set the default configuration options, you need a way to set it in PI Coresight.
Maybe that could be part of the Administration page. There is a need to have the ability to set the default Trend symbol trace colors, default coloring of other symbols, default time bar time ranges (we should have the ability to define what choices we want to see as a company in the time bar selector), etc.36 votes
As a PI administrator I want to be able to make announcements to the users on the PI Vision start page from time to time.
Examples of announcements is planned upgrade dates and times, information about new features, problems with data capture from interfaces, etc.
A suitable place for these announcements could be the lower left corner of the start page.25 votes
We need a new access level with below privileges:
- Read shared displays
- Create & save displays
- No access to share displays with others
Most users in Vision like to explore and save their displays. Only access level for that is Publisher. However that also means all publishers can share their displays with the World.

As a PI system administrator I want to specify where search index files are stored or make sure that the index files are not consuming space on an OS drive , so that I can manage/optimize the disk usage on my server machine.
Solution: Either the location of the index files are specified at installation time or the storage mechanism for the index files doesn't involve the OS drive at all.
Workaround: Update to PI Web API 2015 R2 which allows you to specify the location of the index files.

Allow administrators to update the Folder attribute to an import folder.
Customer Issue: If the name of a file server is changed or the path to a share is modified, then the import folder must be re-added through import folder management and the displays must be re-imported.
Workaround: If the name of the fileserver is changed, a DNS alias can be used to point to the new location.

Add custom time range defaults. Shifts at my organization are 12 hours, I would like to allow my users to be able to select 12 hours without having to type in the timestamps manually. (As opposed to or in addition to 1h, 8h, 1d etc.)7 votes
As a System Administrator I want to log in to the PI Coresight Administration site using different credentials than are currently logged into the computer so that I don't have to change IE settings, close the browser, restart the browser and log in.
Provide a mechanism to log out of the admin site and log in as a different authorized user.

Ability to create digital state tables (table exposing digital states for a set) that lists all available statuses for a set. This would help users who do not have access to SMT know the correct names for each state set and the available states.6 votes

Customer Issue: Import folders are listed in the order they are added which makes it difficult to sort them if more folders need to be included later.
Enhancement Request: Allow administrators to set the import folder order.
Workaround: If possible, include the import folders under the same root folder subfolders of an import directory are displayed in alphabetical order. Another method is to add the import fodlers in the order you want the import folders to be listed in the Home page.

As an PI administrator I need to monitor the health of the index files created by the PI Web API Crawler. In particular, if the last crawl date has not been updated recently or other errors show up. This is currently done by manually visiting the PI Web API database page. A performance counter that reports things like "the number of databases who have not been updated in 1 hour" or "the number of databases in error" existed, we could store that info in tags and act on the crawler getting in a bad state in a proactive manner.4 votes
Being able to set default Displays for all Users. When posting PB graphic into Vision it would be helpful to be able to set the graphics that are most useful for all users. Instead of them having to Favorite them.4 votes
