It would be very useful to be able to configure the trace type for each tag on a single trend. For example have one tag show only markers but a second one show only the line.1 vote
This is currently available in PI Vision 2020. You can see it in the Trace Options section of the Trend configuration. The “Style” and “Marker” options can be set for each individual trace.
I need to be able to see a summary page with various trends, however some of them I would like to see at different trend durations. For example, I would like to see most trends at a one month interval. However, for another trend where the data is only taken monthly I need to see it on a yearly interval to see a trend. Or for another trend that I care about long term process creep I would like to see at 90 days.1 vote
PI Vision 2020, released in Q4 2020, allows you have trends in one display with multiple time contexts. So you can have one trend that shows a one month duration while another trend shows a one year duration.
As an admin, I should be allowed to remove displays that other people created. I currently don't have that ability.1 vote
If you are in the PI Vision Admins group, you will have permissions to delete any display. This can be done on the PI Vision home page by clicking on the gear icon to open the Display Settings dialog and choosing ‘Delete display’. If you’d like to delete displays in bulk, the PI Vision Display Utility can be used for this.
Add an export option to the new Migration tool to export an Datasets to a text file.1 vote
The PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility has an analysis report that has detailed information about each display that was analyzed, including information about data sets. This report can be filtered down to a list of data set equations contained in the analyzed displays.
Several charts can be saved as a new display after being added to ad hoc1 vote
This feature request already exists in PI Vision. The ad hoc workspace can be converted to a new display using the ‘Convert to Display’ button in the upper right corner.
Anywhere that you can show a tag name you should be able to show an alias instead. For instance, tables only allow you to show the tag name and not an alias.1 vote
In PI Vision 2020, we added labeling options to add element name, attribute name, description, or custom text as labels for trend, value, vertical gauge, horizontal gauge, and radial gauge symbols.

Would be great to superimpose Event Frames within a trend: in the same symbol. Really interesting when analysing a process or when troubleshooting.1 vote
The Event Comparison display allows you to compare multiple event frames in the same trend. For more details, see the PI Vision Users Guide:
If this does not cover your original request, please provide additional details into your use case.

Although user is set up as publisher, does not get the ability to modify folders or move graphics to folders. Only the "Administrator" named user gets this capability.1 vote
In order to modify folders or move displays to folders a user must have write access to that folder. It is only the root level (under Home) that can only be controlled by PI Vision administrators. Once an Admin creates root folders, they can assign write access to the appropriate AF identities and then the members of those identities will be able to modify the folders.
Here’s some more information on folder permissions in case it is helpful: https://livelibrary.osisoft.com/LiveLibrary/content/en/vision-v2/GUID-947EDD0E-DC0B-40AC-A0C5-3E554E27E445
Zooming into the trend object doesn't zoom into the XY plot on the same display. I’ll click the left arrow then the right arrow in the time bar to overcome this.1 vote
Zooming in on a trend updates the display time range, which in turn will update your XY plot.
If this is not occurring in your display, please contact TechSupport for additional troubleshooting.
When creating a shape in PI vision, you can set the "fill" to empty so as to see behind the shape you made. However, it would be nice if there was a setting that would allow it to "move-to-back" so as to allow a user to click things within the shape while keeping the outline of the shape.1 vote
You can use the editing toolbar to arrange objects on the display:
administrator should have access to all displays1 vote
Administrators have access to all displays with the ‘Show private displays’ option on the PI Vision home page. This functionality was introduced in the PI Vision 2017 R2 release.
the ability to restrict what folders are visible to me.1 vote
You can restrict folder access by setting permissions on the folder. For more information, see the PI Vision documentation:
add ability to rescale traces in trends and take off traces and add back in trends to better explore data1 vote
This functionality is currently available in PI Vision trends. You are able to right click on the data item in the trend legend and hide the trace. If your trend is set to a non-custom scale range, the scale range will auto-update when traces are added/removed.
Ability to left, centre and right align text so that when values change, they stay aligned with sibling elements. For instance, a value of 1,000psi going down to 0psi will align itself back to the left but it would be preferable to align to the right so that units line up.1 vote
PI Vision 2017 R2 introduced the ability to horizontally align the text within value symbols (left, center or right)
Need to be able to make smaller than 1 interval change on time scroll. Example: if displaying 1H of data, user can scroll 1H increments. I would like to scroll in 1H increments or 15 minute increments. this help navigating to right time period.1 vote
Scrolling time in small increments can be done if you mouse over the bottom portion of a trend. When doing this, your mouse cursor will change to a hand that can be used to drag the time range forward or backwards in time in small increments. The increment is determined by how far you drag. This functionality was introduced in the 2016 version.
As a PI Vision user, I want to be able to see a trend's trace in context with how the trace is trending over a larger time range.
This could be visualized with a smaller trace above the trend that shows the trace over a larger time range, with the section highlighted that corresponds to time range of the main trend. This highlighted section should be able to be dragged forward or backward in times and should be able to be expanded or shrunk using handles. See attached image for an example.1 vote
With PI Vision 2020, you can now have displays with trend symbols that have multiple time ranges, allowing you to view a short time range and longer time range on the same display.
When I switch to "multiple scale" there is no possibility to add the values per scale manually!1 vote
In PI Vision, it’s possible to adjust the scale minimum and maximum values whether you’re using single or multiple scales. When multiple scales are enabled, you can see a unique scale for each trace on the trend. You can manually adjust the scale for each trace in the “Trace Options” within the Trend Format configuration pane.
