  1. Support multiple time ranges for trends on a display

Have the ability to support multiple time ranges for trends on a display.  For example a trend might be configured as showing the last 8 hours, another one as the last 7 days, and another one the last month.

  2. Ad-hoc trend with multiple selected attributes

Build trend with multiple traces based on a display data (for instance, from a table). PI Vision user should be able to select multiple items on the table and then trend them on a single ad-hoc trend to compare. The ad-hoc trend should appear in a pop-up window (which you can move) in the same browser tab and the user should be able to switch between the main screen and the ah-hoc trend window to drag and drop more attributes from tables and value symbols on the screen. It's very important to see both ad-hoc trend and the main display…

  3. Trend: Multiple Trend Cursors

As a process engineer, it is helpful to see values at several points of interest on a trend at the same time.

We are currently working on providing the ability to add multiple cursors to a trend for the PI Vision 2019 release.

UPDATE: It will be possible to add multiple cursors to trends on displays as well as popup trends and to the trend in the new ad hoc workspace that is being introduced in PI Vision 2019.

  4. Support renaming of AF elements and attributes

PI Coresight does not support the renaming of AF elements or attributes or the movement of them within the hierarchy. After renaming or moving these objects, symbols referencing them will show No Data in PI Coresight.

  6. Convert ProcessBook display to PI Vision display

Can we have a tool to convert ProcessBook display to native PI Vision display? So we can leverage the full features of PI Vision displays,.

    Thanks for your feedback!

The PI ProcessBook to PI Vision migration tool is still in development for the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019 and is on track for Q2 2019. This tool will allow you to analyze your ProcessBook displays ahead of the migration to assess which displays are ready to migrate and which displays may need to be evaluated prior to migration.

  7. Font Size

Can we have the option to specify font size for all symbols? There is currently no way to set font size in tables, bar chart/gauge, scale values in trends, etc.

  8. Allow sharing a display with edit permission

As a display creator, I want to give other users edit permission on the display so we can collaborate in creating the display and so that other users from my team can make needed changes when I'm not available.

Role-based edit permissions on displays is in development for a future release. This will allow you to give multiple users permissions to edit the same display.

  9. Trend: Support Trace Markers

Support trace markers on a trend like in ProcessBook

  10. Trend Cursor: show values while dragging

As a process engineer, while dragging a trend cursor I'd like to see the process values. Currently, I can only see the value once I drop the cursor, I need to see the values WHILE dragging the cursor so that I can quickly identify problems in my process.

This feature was available in previous version of Coresight (2014 and 2015) and in ProcessBook.

  11. Symbols: Make visible/invisible based on tag value

Change graphics based on a tag value. For example enhance the multistate functionality so that is it possible to make a symbol visible when a tag/attribute value is equal to 1 and invisible when equal to 0 (or another condition).

  12. Table: Archived Values

Provide a symbol in PI Coresight which displays the time and archive values of a data item based on the display's time range.

Customer Issue: Customer uses PI Coresight to monitor the most recent 100 seconds of data on their production line, which updates every 10 seconds. The process engineers want to be able to see the previous 10 measurements collected. The values on the display need to be clearly visible from a distance and able to display the desired information without interaction. This can currently be done with ProcessBook or DataLink, but a thin client is preferred for these…

  13. Display hand when hovering over objects with Navigation Links

When hovering with the mouse over a display object that has a Navigation Link attached to it, the mouse cursor should change to a hand when not in edit mode and it should navigate on single-click instead of having to double-click.

Having the mouse cursor change to a hand to indicate when a symbol is configured with a navigation link is in development for the PI Vision 2019 release. To make this behavior more intuitive for users, single-clicking the symbol will trigger the navigation instead of double-click. Trends will be an exception to this, single-clicking a trend will continue to drop a cursor and double-click will be required for navigation links.

  14. Hover/Mouse Over ToolTip for Hyperlinks and Navigation Links

As a PI Vision user, it would be helpful to have a ToolTip showing the hyperlink when a Navigation Link is added to an object or symbol. Right now, this only occurs with a Text symbol, but it would be helpful to have this for other symbols, such as a shape or image.

  15. Search Graphics Library

Be able to search the graphics library by keywords rather than having to try to guess which of the many folders a certain graphic is in.

  16. Make XY-Plot available for collections

Most symbols can be dynamically organized into collections, which is very handy for comparing assets of different sites, where the number of assets vary.
The XY-Plot does not support this function at the moment.

  17. Aspect Ratio

When adding an image I don't see any option to maintain the original images aspect ratio.

  18. Busy Indicator

It would be useful to have an indication that the data is still being loaded. Currently when you add an attribute to the display, change the time range of a display, execute a dynamic search, etc you don't get an indication that something is happening. Some of our operations are quite far away with limited bandwidth.

  19. Ability to change time when trending an individual attribute/tag value in a pop up trend

For a ProcessBook display published to Coresight, if a user selects single object - value, trend, multistate, etc - and double-clicks to bring up a full screen adhoc trend, the Coresight time controls are still at the bottom and can be used to control time range and move around in history.

If a user tries same in a native Coresight display - the time inherited in the popup trend is from the main display with no capability to modify.  The user must set the time slice in the main display before going to an adhoc trend.

  20. Selected Symbols

Need to make it clearer which symbol is selected.

Gray box is too big and can be difficult to see on displays with certain background colors. Users cannot tell if they are selecting the correct symbol.
