Build trend with multiple traces based on a display data (for instance, from a table). PI Vision user should be able to select multiple items on the table and then trend them on a single ad-hoc trend to compare. The ad-hoc trend should appear in a pop-up window (which you can move) in the same browser tab and the user should be able to switch between the main screen and the ah-hoc trend window to drag and drop more attributes from tables and value symbols on the screen. It's very important to see both ad-hoc trend and the main display simultaneously.

Ad hoc trending is a feature that is in development for the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019. This feature will support selecting data from displays to add to an ad hoc trending workspace for analyzing data and investigating issues on the fly.
As a process engineer, it is helpful to see values at several points of interest on a trend at the same time.224 votes
We are currently working on providing the ability to add multiple cursors to a trend for the PI Vision 2019 release.
UPDATE: It will be possible to add multiple cursors to trends on displays as well as popup trends and to the trend in the new ad hoc workspace that is being introduced in PI Vision 2019.
Can we have a tool to convert ProcessBook display to native PI Vision display? So we can leverage the full features of PI Vision displays,.151 votes
We’d like to learn more about your adoption and use of PI Vision and understand what we can do to help. Your feedback will help us determine what we should work on next.

The PI ProcessBook to PI Vision migration tool is still in development for the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019 and is on track for Q2 2019. This tool will allow you to analyze your ProcessBook displays ahead of the migration to assess which displays are ready to migrate and which displays may need to be evaluated prior to migration.
As a process engineer, while dragging a trend cursor I'd like to see the process values. Currently, I can only see the value once I drop the cursor, I need to see the values WHILE dragging the cursor so that I can quickly identify problems in my process.
This feature was available in previous versions and in ProcessBook.84 votes
Actively updating attribute values while dragging a trend cursor is planned for a future release.
Support trace markers on a trend like in ProcessBook84 votes
Markers on trend traces is planned for a future release.
When hovering with the mouse over a display object that has a Navigation Link attached to it, the mouse cursor should change to a hand when not in edit mode and it should navigate on single-click instead of having to double-click.62 votes
Having the mouse cursor change to a hand to indicate when a symbol is configured with a navigation link is in development for the PI Vision 2019 release. To make this behavior more intuitive for users, single-clicking the symbol will trigger the navigation instead of double-click. Trends will be an exception to this, single-clicking a trend will continue to drop a cursor and double-click will be required for navigation links.
As a PI Vision user, it would be helpful to have a ToolTip showing the hyperlink when a Navigation Link is added to an object or symbol. Right now, this only occurs with a Text symbol, but it would be helpful to have this for other symbols, such as a shape or image.50 votes
Having the hyperlink appear in a tooltip for symbols configured with a navigation link is in development for the PI Vision 2019 release.
Most symbols can be dynamically organized into collections, which is very handy for comparing assets of different sites, where the number of assets vary.
The XY-Plot does not support this function at the moment.31 votes
This functionality is currently in development for the PI Vision 2019 release.
It would be useful to have an indication that the data is still being loaded. Currently when you add an attribute to the display, change the time range of a display, execute a dynamic search, etc you don't get an indication that something is happening. Some of our operations are quite far away with limited bandwidth.25 votes
We are working on this for PI Vision 2019 to provide additional busy indicators when data is being loaded and to be more consistent with the use of busy indicators throughout the application.
For a ProcessBook display published to Coresight, if a user selects single object - value, trend, multistate, etc - and double-clicks to bring up a full screen adhoc trend, the Coresight time controls are still at the bottom and can be used to control time range and move around in history.
If a user tries same in a native Coresight display - the time inherited in the popup trend is from the main display with no capability to modify. The user must set the time slice in the main display before going to an adhoc trend.22 votes
In PI Vision 2019, the time bar will be available in popup trends so that the time range can be adjusted.
I need the ability to undo, revert time ranges or go back a step or steps when zooming in on data in a trend. Currently the only way to do this that I'm aware of is to start from scratch with your default time range at the bottom.
When in full screen mode (pop-up) for a trend the only option you have is to go back and from there you have to start from scratch again.
Being able to undo/revert time ranges would definitely increase the usability and make analyzing data more efficient.19 votes
The ability to undo zoom actions in the popup trend is in development for the PI Vision 2019 release.
For trends on a display, a zoom action can be undone with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Z.
Need to make it clearer which symbol is selected.
Gray box is too big and can be difficult to see on displays with certain background colors. Users cannot tell if they are selecting the correct symbol.19 votes
In PI Vision 2019 the symbol selection indicator will be adjusted so that it will be clearly visible on displays regardless of the background color, and it will be smaller so that it is easier to identify which symbol is selected.
As a display author, I would like to configure where the shading of the gauge/bar starts (min, max, target, or a custom value) so that I can easily track the value's deviation from a certain target.12 votes
The shading start value for gauges (vertical, horizontal, and radial) will be configurable in the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019. The start value will be able to be set to the minimum scale value, maximum scale value, or a custom value.
As a display author, I would like to configure the visibility (show/hide) of scales on horizontal and vertical gauge symbols.9 votes
The ability to configure the visibility of scales on gauges symbols is being added in the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019.
The request to configure the location (outside/inside) of scales on gauge symbols is now being tracked as: https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517/suggestions/37167358
Imported Processbook Display, Allow option for Scale-Range when open pop-up trend by clicking on Value Symbol
Currently on imported PB display, when clicking on Value Symbol, a pop-up trend will use Auto-Range to set the scale of the trend. I would like to have an the option to use 'Database' setting.8 votes
In the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019, there will be an option to change the scale settings in popup trends opened from imported ProcessBook displays.
As a PI Vision user, I want to be able to right-click on an Event in the Events Table and select Apply Time Range to update the time range of the Editor display. Adding this functionality would be consistent with the Events Search pane, where this option already exists.
The other events pane options should also be possible from events table:
Compare Similar Events by Name
Compare Similar Events by Type7 votes
These options are being added to the context menu for the events table symbol in the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019.
If a display is in a folder, the list of identities with which the display can be shared will include all identities. However, the customer do not want to see all the Identities, only want to find all identities that the current user is a member of.6 votes
We are making this change in the upcoming release of PI Vision 2019 so that only users with write access to a folder will see the sharing option for that folder and the list of identities shown will be the identities that they are a member of in addition to the identities that the folder has already been shared with.
Add the option to whitelist certain domains from triggering the third-party warning pop-up. This could also be handled per session by end-users ("Remember my choice") instead of adding domains to a whitelist.
Current version of PI Vision has the dialog box hardcoded to trigger if a navigation link is not a link to another display.6 votes
This behavior is being changed for the PI Vision 2019 release so that there is no longer a pop-up warning when navigating to an external site. Instead the mouse cursor will change to indicate when a symbol is configured with a navigation link and a tooltip will show the navigation link URL.
If I double-click on a multistate symbol, I get an ad-hoc display showing the value and all it's thresholds. This is great except that the trend is multi-scale, which makes the threshold lines useless. If an ad-hoc trend is showing a values and its limits, they should all share the same scale (and possibly be differentiated by line-style or colour intensity instead of colour hue)1 vote
In PI Vision 2019, we are adding the ability to change the scale settings in the popup trend so that you can choose single scale or multiple scales.
