Support renaming of AF elements and attributes
PI Vision does not support the renaming of AF elements or attributes or the movement of them within the hierarchy. After renaming or moving these objects, symbols referencing them will show No Data in PI Vision.
353 votesIn PI Vision 2020, you no longer need to update your displays when AF elements or attributes have been renamed or moved within the AF hierarchy. A console utility will optionally run on upgrades that update your previously created displays to support renaming.

Ad hoc trend with multiple selected attributes
Build trend with multiple traces based on a display data (for instance, from a table). PI Vision user should be able to select multiple items on the table and then trend them on a single ad-hoc trend to compare. The ad-hoc trend should appear in a pop-up window (which you can move) in the same browser tab and the user should be able to switch between the main screen and the ah-hoc trend window to drag and drop more attributes from tables and value symbols on the screen. It's very important to see both ad-hoc trend and the main display…
243 votesPI Vision 2019 introduces new ad hoc trending capabilities that allow users to
quickly select data from across displays to add to an ad hoc workspace where you can analyze data and investigate issues. For more information on this new functionality check out this video on our YouTube learning channel: https://youtu.be/rLu2E2qc8Ds

Multistate: Make visible/invisible based on data item value
Change graphics based on a data item value. For example enhance the multistate functionality so that is it possible to make a symbol visible when a tag/attribute value is equal to 1 and invisible when equal to 0 (or another condition).
141 votesIn PI Vision 2020, new multi-state capabilities were introduced including the ability to hide symbol visibility.

Copy or migrate displays between systems & reassign data items
Be able to copy displays between different Coresight systems. One example might be a dev --> test --> prod scenario. The migration needs to include the reassigning of data items to a new PI-AF server and/or PI Server.
But there are other cases where you want to reuse a display that's already been created but it's in a different Coresight system.
Note: This was previously Enhancement 64766.
107 votesThe PI Vision Display Utility was released with PI Vision 2017 and allows PI Vision administrators to move displays between PI Vision servers and update data items on displays to facilitate migration between development, test and production environments.

Trend: Edit trace name in legend or be able to add a description
Edit the trace name or add a description in the legend of a trend in order to:
1) Make clear the description of the Attribute in the trend
2) Use an abbreviation for the attribute description in the trend legend
3) Use a different language in the legend while respecting the attribute name (for example, an attribute name is written in English in PI System Explorer but we would like to see Italian in the Coresight trend)93 votesIn PI Vision 2020, new symbol enhancements were introduced including the ability to add element name, attribute name or description, or custom text as labels for trend, value, vertical gauge, horizontal gauge, and radial gauge symbols.

AF URL attribute object in PI Vision
PI Vision should have a object that gives functionality to open URL´s from AF attributes.
It is possibel to use URL´s in AF attributes, it is even possible to open them from system explorer.
PI Vision should recon that it is a URL when you drag it into the design pane and automatically create a text object with the URL.92 votesThe PI Vision development team has completed work to allow URLs in value and table symbols to act as live hyperlinks on displays in PI Vision 2017 R2. XY Plot
Support an XY plot that is able to visualize data in another dimension other than time.
User story: As a process engineer, I want to trend one attribute against another (like depth) SO THAT they can visualize the data in context of the other attribute rather than by time.
Need in Coresight XY plotting abilities : mainly like in processbook + overlays of design/signature curves from AF tables. In addition overlays of differents XY curves from event frames would be great. This is really something missing to Coresight to be able to monitor pumps, compressors,…
86 votesThe PI Vision development team has completed work on the XY Plot in PI Vision 2017 R2. The XY Plot is now out of CTP and has improved performance, an updated configuration experience, and new formatting options. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features. Number Formatting for Value
It would be really useful to have a format definition for a number shown in the value symbol, e.g. according to Microsoft conventions ( https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0c899ak8(v=vs.110).aspx ).
Examples: the value 1234.5678 displayed using various formatting definitions:
"#####" --> 1235
"#####.#" --> 1234.681 votesThe PI Vision development team has completed work to allow the configuration of number formats in PI Vision 2017 R2. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 R2 to take advantage of this and other key new features.
