Easily choose between AF attribute name and actual PI tag name
When creating a display using attributes (i.e. - Agitator Speed), I would like to be able to easily toggle between the name and the actual tag ID. I have access to PI System Explorer, so I can go and find it, but my end users do not and in some instances would like to display the actual tag and not the attribute name.

Ideally, this feature would be added to PI Vision. A substitution parameter option to extract the PI Point would also help. Would make it easier to build out with child attributes in AF, instead of using the TagName function for AF Analysis. But, as others pointed out, having this information easily available in PI Vision is preferred, since most users typically only have access to Vision.
An extra Visibility item in the Value symbol would do the trick, or at least the PI Point name in the floating box that appers when placing the mouse over an object.

This feature is very important for us as well. We are using PI Vision alongside our control system and it is vital that we can toggle/scroll over/tool tip to see the PI tag name so the control room operator can reference this in the control system before taking action.

Some operators are more familiar with PI tag names. Even if the PI Vision display is all AF based and using contextualizing navigation, the end user would like to have the option of using PI tag names instead of the AF attribute name, when the latter is a PIPoint DR.
Would like to be able to quickly toggle from one to the other client side (from a button menu on the menu top display "Show PI Tags" or "Show AF Attribute Name". -

It would be nice to see the PI point that an attribute is mapped to in PI Vision. Currently we have to look this up in either Process Book or Data link. It would be nice to have a one stop shop for this. Also it would be nice to configure PI Tag trends so that you could see the Tag description instead of the tag name or both.

Right click -> format trend
Check box to display tag name instead of attribute name. -

This would be very helpful. We will have control engineers accessing the system and they want to see tag names (e.g., TI202), because that's how it's shown in the DCS. However, managers and others who don't interact with the system as often want to see the attribute name (e.g., Boiloff Gas Temp), because the tag name means nothing to them.

In PI Vision under the plot Trend Options, have the ability to assign the PI Tag Name for display in the legend. Optionally, show the server name as this can make the legend name long when displayed.
The reason for this request is the plotted data is normally a PI tag value and this will make plot line identification easier.

Having placed a Value symbol for an attribute in a display, under Format Value -> Visibility I can choose to have the Label changed to the tag's description, but I can't choose to have the underlying tag name itself as the label. This seems to be a pretty easy thing to add and would be much appreciated.
