The PI Vision development team has completed work on a new Graphics Library in PI Vision 2017 that provides a standard set of process and industry symbols can be used to create process diagrams and uniform representation of assets. Upgrade to PI Vision 2017 to take advantage of this and other key new features. You can read about the key new features in PI Vision 2017 in our release announcement here: https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Releases/RL01216

  3. Dynamic Collection Criteria Search Root

I would like to be able to dynamically change my collection criteria search root, based on the drop-down asset, so that the collection is element relative. This way, I don't have to create multiple collection displays.

Copying PI Vision symbols from one display to another is supported for displays on the same PI Vision server.

  7. Open a display in full screen view

Configure a display to open in full screen mode, so tool bars and pallets are hidden by default when the display is opened.

Displays can be opened in full screen by appending the following parameters to the display URL:

    • HideToolbar
    • HideTimebar
    • HideSidebar

    For example:
    https://PIVisionServer/PIVision/#/Displays/3117/PowerAnalysis?HideToolbar&HideTimebar&HideSidebar

    For additional information please see:
    https://livelibrary.osisoft.com/LiveLibrary/content/en/vision-v3/GUID-246E9692-6C5B-47ED-B1F8-2A5568A9421B

HideToolbar and HideTimebar were introduced in the 2014 version. HideSidebar was introduced in the 2016 version.

  8. Change the data label / description for all symbols

Be able to change the label for data on any symbol on the display, similar to how the value symbol does which gives several contextual descriptions (like element|attribute, attribute, attribute's descripiton, etc) for the data or allows the user to specify a custom text.

In PI Vision 2020, we added labeling options to add element name, attribute name, description, or custom text as labels for trend, value, vertical gauge, horizontal gauge, and radial gauge symbols.

For more information, see the PI Vision 2020 release announcement here: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=000031641

If this does not meet your needs, please respond on this feedback item so we can update the details.

  9. Gauge scale visibility

As a display author, I would like to configure the visibility (show/hide) of scales on horizontal and vertical gauge symbols.

  12. Multistate: Provide a way to refresh digital state information

Digital states used for multistates are currently stored with a display, so if they are modified PI Vision does not currently detect this change. PI Vision should provide a way to update multistates with the new modified digital states. This applies to enumeration sets in AF as well.

  14. Dynamic element selection (collections of assets)

Use: Have a template that is a container of elements. Would like to be able to have a display automatically update to include all the elements added to that container so that I do not have to manually update the display every time an element is added.

As John suggested, you can configure the value symbol to not show the value (URI) but still act like a link.

If this does not meet your original request, please provide additional details.

  16. Allow uploading images larger than 2 megabytes

Right now, users can only upload images up to 2 megabytes in size; while I realize that there are reasons for this, it'd be great to be able to configure that size cap through a web.config file setting, for example.

  17. Add same attribute across multiple elements in bulk

Add the same attribute for multiple elements in bulk! We frequently look at the same attribute for >60 elements in a single display. I would like to select an attribute, then select all elements that I want to see that data for, then drag the attribute onto the page.
