Trend: Show data item descriptions
Be able to view the tag/attribute descriptions on the bottom of the trend the same way that you are able to in ProcessBook. For those of us with large DB, it is very important to have this functionality.
197 votesWe are currently researching this item and evaluating it for a future release.
If you have a moment, please let us know if you have a preference for how data item descriptions should be displayed in trends. For example, would you prefer to be able to configure the trend legend to show the item’s description, that the descriptions be shown under the plot area of the trend, or would you like them to be displayed in another way?
Let us know what your preference is by adding a comment below.

Trend: Show cursor values while dragging
As a process engineer, while dragging a trend cursor I'd like to see the process values. Currently, I can only see the value once I drop the cursor, I need to see the values WHILE dragging the cursor so that I can quickly identify problems in my process.
This feature was available in previous versions (PI Coresight) and in ProcessBook.
126 votesWe are aware of the interest in this functionality but at this time it is not in our short-term plans to implement.

Show descriptions in tooltip
In PI CoreSight 2014, when working with a raw Tag or attribute, one could hover over the tag and the description would appear in the tooltip. I loved that functionality. However, in the upgrade, this functionality is lost.
Please reinstate it for the next patch or upgrade.

Multistate: Play sound when state changes
We would like to be able to have a sound play as part of a multistate. Ex: on an upper limit we may want it to play a sound as an audible alarm.

Folder-related URL in PI Vision
It would be great if it were possible to set up a URL that takes the user directly to a folder within Vision.
For example something like https://.../PIVision/Site1/ would show only the Displays of the folder Site1

Show ToolTip Statistics at PI Vision
As a PI user, I would like to see the same ToolTip statistics as we are used to see at PI ProcessBook. It is automatic when any user sees a value and wants to check further information on an attribute with PI Point Data Reference.

Email errors to administrator
Provide a way to quickly email an administrator an error message seen on a display. Message should include the context of the issue (corresponding display, symbol, data item, etc).

Change text alignment in a Table symbol
Currently, text alignment is hard-coded in the Table symbol. I would like to be able to configure text alignment (right, left, center) for each column within a Table.

Date Picker: Pop-up calendar for time manipulation
Pop-up calendar (date picker) for selecting timestamps for start/end date/time of a display

Align items with first clicked
Modify the object alignment so the objects all align (top middle bottom...) with the first object selected. This way the first object does not move, everything else aligns to it.

Hide/unhide traces with a single click
Ability to hide/display series traces on trends via single mouse click (like we used to be able to do in ProcessBook)

Ability to allow Vision users to set and save their time zone
We are a large company that is across the US. We need to allow users to set and save their time zone within PI Vision.
11 votesIf you have a chance, we’d like to learn more about the use case behind this request.
By default, PI Vision will automatically pick up and use the time zone of the client machine a user is running their browser on, so all times should be displayed in a user’s local time zone.
If this isn’t the behavior you are seeing, or if you have a use case where users need more control over the time zone being used to display data please let us know.

Trend X-axis / Time Markings
Currently (2016 R2), the x-axis on trends is marked with a start time, end time and span. Pre-2016 versions of provided additional markings along the axis that identified intermediate dates/times, without having to click on the trend to bring up the marker with values and timestamp. This functionality was useful and should be considered for re-incorporation.

Search Displays from a Display
In Coresight 2015R2, you were able to not only search the PI Server and AF Server, but you were also able to search for existing displays and open them. In Coresight, you are unable to do so.
That being said, Element Relative Displays are a viable alternative, however, the asset swap feature only shows the name of the element and not the full path. If the names of the element is identical to each other, there is no way to distinguish the 2 easily. You can see the full path by hovering over the element name but that takes time…

Coresight 2015R2 Trend Behavior
Coresight 2016 Trends are missing functionality from Coresight 2015R2. Namely:
1) Have the Tracer follow the mouse as opposed to having to drag the trace around.
2) Have the Tracer constantly update as the mouse moves as opposed to having it update after the mouse button is released.
3) Have a button (x in 2015R2) to hide traces as opposed to right-clicking the attribute in the legend to hide
4) Have the ability to hide traces in Kiosk mode

add PREV and NEXT buttons next to asset swap
add next and previous button to load assets on a display instead of having to use drop down to cycle through them

Preserve the aspect ratio of picture objects when resizing by their corners
If I resize an imported picture by its corner, the aspect ratio of the picture should be preserved. If I want to change the aspect ratio (which would not be very often), I can resize the picture by its edges. This behaviour is the same as how Microsoft Office treats pictures.

Display property to hide asset/event pane
For smaller screens, the asset/event pane can take up a lot of real estate. The kiosk mode hides the asset/event pane. Unfortunately, it also hides the asset selector drop-down. This improvement would hide the asset/event pane but allow use of the asset selector dropdown. It would be ideal to be able to set a default (display setting) for each display and to have the option of passing a parameter in via URL to override the selected default.
