In the upcoming PI Vision 2020 release, this functionality is being added that will allow for creating calculations on the fly within PI Vision.
Have an option to change the interval of the data. For example, it would be helpful to be able to trend raw data in hourly or daily average intervals over the time-frame selected to smooth out the trace. Currently this is feasible with a tag calculation through AF which takes up tags.30 votes

In the ad hoc workspace and pop up trend, users will be able to add a summary trace for average, min, or max, and set a custom interval such as hourly or daily.
Configure multi-state: enable color changes using result of a calculation comparing data with another PI tag or PI AF attribute value.7 votes
The ability to configure multi-state based on a calculation is currently in development for the PI Vision 2020 release.
PI Vision 2020 will support display level calculations that can be used as data items in symbols and as the multi-state source for a symbol.
Ability to filter out data on trends when a condition is true.
For example: remote all data on a trend when the status is 'Not Running' or 'Capacity' is below 50%.
Data would be hidden on the trends (gaps), optional way to collapse the false time periods as well.5 votes
