  1. Convert ProcessBook display to PI Vision display

Can we have a tool to convert ProcessBook display to native PI Vision display? So we can leverage the full features of PI Vision displays,.

The PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility has been released.

This utility allows you to easily migrate PI ProcessBook displays to PI Vision, producing native PI Vision displays that are editable and immediately usable in OSIsoft’s latest visualization infrastructure.

To learn more about this new utility and to see it in action, check out this video on our YouTube learning channel:

  2. Migrate data sets from PI ProcessBook displays to PI Vision

Most of displays that we use have datasets, it is important to migrate these as displays are migrated to native PI Vision displays.

PI Vision 2020 introduces the ability to create calculations within your display, similar to calculation data sets in PI ProcessBook. With the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility, you can now migrate your ProcessBook displays that contain data sets over to PI Vision displays that contain calculations.

For additional information on PI Vision 2020, please see the release announcement here:

  3. Improved migration of arc symbol

The arc symbol is migrated with the PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility, however PI Vision does not support the same configuration options as PI ProcessBook, so in many cases arcs are not migrated well (PI Vision only supports 90 degree arcs). Improvements should be made so that arcs from PI ProcessBook can be migrated properly.

The PI ProcessBook to PI Vision Migration Utility has an analysis report that has detailed information about each display that was analyzed, including information about data sets. This report can be filtered down to a list of data set equations contained in the analyzed displays.
