The output files can grow quite large.
Suggestion :Split the files. Here is an example using AF element name and date :
As an integrator for Business Analytics user I would like to be able to choose which directory in Azure data lake my view is published to so that is is easier to manage and analyse data once it is there.
Currently this is only possible through setting up additional targets, which is cumbersome.1 vote
How would this interaction play out? Choose the directory before publishing?
How many directories do you currently need to publish to? What are the different purposes for each directory?
We are using file target to move data into a system that PI Integrator does not support writing to directly. We have a script that moves the files PI Integrator creates to our other system, but we need a way to tell when the Integrator has finished writing to that file. The Integrator should either lock the file it is writing to or have a processing naming pattern similar to UFL.10 votes
During View import process, have the option to preserve or change the View's GUID. This comes into play if multiple Integrators share the same SQL backend; there will be a GUID collision. Use case: split a large view among Integrators (for performance reasons) by using the Export/Import option.2 votes
When PI outputs multiple TAGS data to the SQL database, the output table needs only three fields (TAGS, time, value).1 vote
Refer to the details of ticket #881602.
In short, the integrator leads to excessive amounts of Audit records. I see at least 50% of the Audit entries being related to the Integrator, when that is only used very lightly.
1) it should be documented that these are effectively incompatible
2) preferred there should be a way such that the Integrator does not cause any audit records for the internal housekeeping of the tool.4 votes
When you add a new attribute to a view, that column is placed at the end of the table. The column should be added in the correct placement like it would be if that attribute was added when the view was first created.1 vote
The actual version just allows to create a text file output. It would be nice to be able to manage the format of the columns in that target2 votes
I wish that the start time of a continuous view update cycle could precede the end time of the last cycle.
For example every day query the last 30 days of data and replace rows that have already been written to the target table with the most recent data. This would be a straightforward way to ensure that data in PI and the integrator View are the same for the last 30 days. Manual corrections up to 30 days old could then be captured automatically.2 votes
Currently, it is not possible to set the file extension that is published to Azure Data Lake Store by the PI Integrator for Microsoft Azure. It is currently hardcoded to .txt format.
The end user should have the option to choose which file format (txt /csv/etc) that is to be eventually published to ADLS.1 vote
It would be good to support more types of authentication. The current release of Hadoops add OAuth2 support to WebHDFS. This helps PI Integrator for BA to integrate with enterprise data lakes utilizing single-signon systems.5 votes
High frequency data is increasingly common. With examples in manufacturing of events happening entirely within a few 100s of milliseconds.
The request is to allow the export of interpolated data at a rate higher than the current limit of 1 event per second.9 votes
When you copy a BI Integrator Job ans change some settings in the Filter all attributes are added to the column view.
We remove Attributes that are not needed e.g. Level1 Attributes when we only Need the Level2 Child Attributes. On a change the Level1 Attributes are always added.
We rename Attributed and change the export settings e.g. Aggregstion or UOM. On a filter change the original Attributes are added again.
We would prefer an option/setting in PI BI that no column is added to the column view and you can select them by the Add Column function.4 votes
As someone who uses the UI to get a summary of what my views contain, I would like the view's "Start Time" and "End Time" to reflect the actual data contained within the view in the case that I "Update Data" in the view to be something outside of the original bounds.6 votes
