  1. Allow renaming of diagnostic tags for batch interfaces

Batch interfaces should follow a similar approach to UniInt based interfaces to retrieve the diagnostic tags. That is to say they should pull the diagnostic tags based on the PointSource, Location1, and ExDesc, not a hardcoded name based purely on EXE name and Location1. This would allow the PI admin to name tags to their organization's naming convention and also avoid naming conflicts between interface instances of the same type running on another interface node.

  2. Fix MAXSTOPTIME parameter for batch interfaces

The MAXSTOPTIME parameter for batch interfaces does not kill the interface process when the limit is exceeded, however the parameter does work for UniInt based interfaces. Please fix the batch interfaces so that the interface process is killed once the MAXSTOPTIME has elapsed.

  3. Enhance how batch interfaces write to the message logs

Batch interfaces should write their messages to the message logs using the Source1 and Source2 fields just like UniInt based interfaces. Currently, batch interfaces leave these 2 fields blank. Source1 should contain the process name or similar and Source2 should contain a string in the format of "<PointSource> | <Location1/ID> | <FailoverID>". Having this will greatly help PI administrators filter the logs based on point source, especially when there are 20+ interfaces running on a server.

  4. Allow diagnostic tags per failover node for batch interfaces

Batch interfaces should allow for diagnostic tags per failover node, just like UniInt based interfaces. Currently, there is no differentiation between the diagnostic tags for the primary failover node versus the backup failover node. The Location3 field is used to hold the failover ID of UniInt based interfaces so that there is a unique set of tags per failover node, however for some bizarre reason the Location3 field for batch interfaces stores the diagnostic tag index even though the diagnostic tag pointer exists in the ExDesc field. While not all diagnostics tags may be of interest for the backup node,…

  5. Link Referenced Elements from Unitprocedure to Procedure Event

When Eventframe Batches are created by a Batch Interface, the used Unit in the plant is created as Element in AF and linked to the Unitprocedure EventFrame. Unfortunately it is not linked to the parent Procedure Event, leaving the "referenced Element" list of procedure event empty.
If a user wants to create a report over all Procedures a certain unit was involved, he has to download all Procedure Events and Unitprocedures via Datalink and do the filtering there.
With PI Batch it was possible to search for PI Batches using PI UnitBatch criteria like Unitname. We need this feature in…

  6. Update EFGen Interface Health Tags To Allow For Better Status Monitoring

The current EFGen interface "Status" health tag displays a value of "Good" if it is connected to the data source but does not factor in if it is writing Event Frame data to PI. There is not currently a straightforward way to drive a PI Notification to alert that there may be an interface issue in the scenario that the interface is connected to the data source but can not write event frames. Either the criteria for what results in a status of "Good" needs to be revisited to include both connectivity to the source data as well as actively…

  7. Add the ability to create custom Performance tag names for the PI Batch Interfaces

Add the ability to create custom Performance tag names for the PI Batch Interfaces.

For systems with numerous batch interfaces the Performance tag naming convention does not intuitively distinguish between interface instances since the Interface ID is the only unique text in the tag name.

  9. PI Event Frames Interface Manager

    Hello,
the PI Event Frames Interface Manager application must be run in the same machine that hosts the PIEFGen interface. This is an issue regarding our security rules because, the PIEFgen interface runs in secured machines and we don't want to allow users to RDP to these machines only for setting batch configuration (triggers, batch nr...) .

This issue did not exist with PIBatchgen as the setting of batch configuration (triggers, batch nr ...) was available inside PI SMT.

It would be great to either be able to run PI Event Frames Interface Manager in a different computer or to…

  10. RDBMS to Eventframe Batch Interface

a lot of your existing Batch Interfaces are based on RDBMS (Simatic Batch, DeltaV, ABB). But there will always be some Batchstorage solutions based on a relational database which are not included in your source system list. For now Honeywell Procedure Analyst or ABB Workflowmanager are such systems.
If we users had a generic RDBMS to Eventframe Batch Interface where we could do the mapping between relationale database rows and your typical Batch Interface placeholders by our own and define triggers for different batch levels just like we can define triggers now for additional batchinformation, we could connect to a…

  11. Batch Framework Interfaces - Support of two byte languages

Batch Framework Interfaces currently do not support two byte languages. Please add support of two byte languages to batch interfaces.

  12. Allow the Event Frame Templates to be fully customizable in the PI Interface for EMDVB

Allow the Event Frame Templates to be fully customizable. This will give the flexibility to remove attributes like Product from the PIBatch and Procedure, as it is represented in the lower levels of Event Frames.

  13. Store Tagdata in Batch Eventframe

Our customer want to have the ability to build Batch Reports centrally in AF so that several Applications can access the same data.
We are already transmitting batch data as Event Frames from our DCS batch package like Simatic Batch and others to AF. We also included other reported values from DCS batchpackage like Educts. But some information like actual product amount or other is not available in DCS batch but as classical PI Tag.
We would like to have the possibility to add these information to the procedure of the Batch Event Frames. Either by an extension of the…

  14. EMERSON PK based DCS - EMDVB Interface support

Emerson has a new PK Controller based DCS available (in lieu of full blown DeltaV). This new device is contained with OPC-UA and Batch Exec/Historian. We want support for the existing EMDVB interface to supply S88 based batches into PI Event Frames and/or PI Batch. Additionally, we will want to run the PI OPC-UA interface to get the live module data into PI tags. Do you have support for this today?

  15. WonderWare InBatch - change phase state logic when a phase end event occurs at the same time as phase start event

When a phase end event is received at the same time as a phase start event, the WWInBatch interface currently creates batches/event frames of zero duration despite there being phase state events under the phase event.
It would be helpful if the interface logic is updated so that either:
the phase end time is updated to the timestamp of the most current phase end event
or ignore phase end events that happen at the same time as phase start events.

  16. Bring in UOM from EMDVBCS source files.

EMBVBCS currently does not bring in UOM from source files to the interface.

  17. EFGEN - Allow Active Point Trigger Based on Specific Value/Logic/Calculation

Using EFGen, currently an EF can only be triggered based on the zeroth state of the Active Point. This makes is impossible to trigger different events based on specific values of a single PI Tag.

I am trying to implement a batch structure using Event Frames with production run as the parent and different phases of the run as children. I have a single PI Tag that lists the current phase of the run in real time. It would be nice to be able to trigger the phase child events based on the specific string values of this tag.

    PI…

  18. Suppress creation of an AF Element hierarchy

As a PI Admin, I may have already created a AF Element Hierarchy corresponding to my BES or MES source data. Therefore I have no need for the interface to create a new AF Elements and I would like to suppress this completely.

  19. Double check window required when deleting an instance in PI Event Frames Interface Manager

As a PI System Admin, I would like to see a confirmation window (acceptation pop-up message), when deleting Interface instances in PI Event Frames Interface Manager. This would minimize the deletion of the instances by error.
