  1. Add option to select interface behavior for bad timestamps (PI RDBMS)

When the PI RDBMS Interface gets a bad timestamp from the source RDB that it cannot coerce into a PI Timestamp, the interface attempts to use the current timestamp instead and logs the following error:

    "pitm_settime() error - 15002. Using current time."

The interface should instead include an option that controls what to do in this situation. The potential options would be to either discard the event entirely after logging an appropriate error or to use the current timestamp of when the event was retrieved (Also logging an appropriate warning).

  2. Add functionality to the interface to adjust timestamps by a configurable amount

This enhancement would add the ability to adjust timestamps to the PI to PI Interface (Beyond the included options for clock drift and subseconds). Potentially, a setting could be supplied to change the timestamps on all data transferred by a specified number of UTC seconds. This setting should be accompanied by a warning message in ICU and the message logs so that the implications of the setting are understood.

  3. Cal ISO: allow instruction level data to use batch level start time

allow instruction level data to use batch level start time. Add an option to allow this. use case: the instruction level start time is the time when the DOT should be ramped up or down.  The batch start time is a few minutes before that timestamp.  To get the turbines adjusted in time, they need to use the batch start time.  This gives the operator enough time to adjust the set point and have the new target met by the instruction start time.

  4. Offset timestamps send by  PI Interface for  Environmental Systems Corp StackVision

Please allow the option to offset data sent by the interface. This will enhance the ability to compare time stamps between data sources and the PI Server  in different timezones.

  5. Convert incoming string data to float and provide division all in the same tag instead of a PE

OPC server is outputting data with the currency data type (VT_CY) and it needs to be stored in the float type.  As per the OPCtoCSV document, the OPCtoCSV tool/OPC interface invokes VariantChangeType in order to convert this currency value to it's string representation before PI receives it.

"Some OPC servers have property values that are type VTCY. The VTCY type is intended to represent monetary values. A VTCY value is a fixed-point number with four digits after an implied decimal point that is scaled and stored as a 64-bit integer. When VariantChangeType converts a VTCY value…

  6. Add a watchdog counter to API shared memory

Add a watchdog counter or something similar into the shared memory header. If the counter fails to update, initiate UFO.

If PIBufSS crashes, data loss can occur.  implement something that allows UniInt to know that the Buffer Subsystem is not responding and initiate failover if available.

    This was previously enhancement 119481.

  7. PI UFL Interface - create selected tags using EnablePointCreation parameter.

Customer noticed that tags can be created automatically, but he does not want to create all of the tags autmatically, but select which tags will be created. He wants to be able to select which tags will be created and which won't.

  8. Always use arc_append when archiving data using SIPowerTG interface

This is the interface from the Siemens Power TG EMS system. The problem is with the saving of Alarm and Event text messages. There are instances when the data files are produced out of order. When data is sent out of order the interface seems to go into arcnoreplace mode and our data is lost.
To store Alarm and Event messages, the duplicate record check is turned off so there is no way to overwrite data, therefore the arc
noreplace is a meaningless protection. Data will never be over written.

  9. UFLDesigner should aid with visualizing the flow of control through the INI file

Currently, the UFLDesigner is focused on helping the user add content (variables, filters, actions, etc.) to the INI file. However, the UFLDesigner does nothing to help the user understand the interaction between these components.

Rather than having the 5 tabs on the left pane, the UFLDesigner should be rearranged to show the flow of control through the INI file, perhaps as a programming loop. Then the user can add content to the skeleton loop.

The loop arrangement would also help the user debug the INI file, since now the loop can be stepped through, line by line, showing the value…

  10. PI ICU should not allow PItoPI COLD failover configuration

As of version 3.8.1 COLD failover is no longer supported by the PI to PI Interface (https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Troubleshooting/Enhancements/19255OSI8). However, the PI Interface configuration utility still allows COLD failover to be selected. This leads to an invalid configuration and the interface refuses to start.

PI ICU should not allow the selection of COLD failover as it does not allow HOT failover, both of which are not supported by the interface.

  12. CSI UCOS Enhancement: Implement Bumpless Download

The new CSI UCOS API now supports a "bumpless download".

"CSI has recently added what they call a “bumpless download” feature to their UBrowser application that the interface uses to communicate with the database. What this does is allows the database to be updated without stopping the service. "

    Please implement this feature.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 121741.

  13. SNMP: Throttle scan specific informational messages as the interface may fill up logs every scan frequency

This is for SNMP version 1.6.3.0, the following message is printed every scan frequency:

"Scan class <scan class number> for device <IP address> will be skipped due to previous pending requests"

And this needs to be throttled as the logs may be get filled up quickly with this type of messages.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 124938.

  14. DNP3: handle invalid timestamps from the RTU

If the RTU provides a timestamp of 0 when using RTU provided timestamps, which does not conform to the DNP3 spec, allow the option to timestamp the event with PI time or drop the event altogether.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 123208.

  15. Create a new function indicating if the string can be turned into a number

Create a new function indicating if the string can be turned into a number. For example, IsNumber() function could return 1 if the string can be turned into a number 0 if not.

  16. OPC HDA Interface: Add a health digital tag for each scan class to indicate when HR is occurring versus realtime for that scan class

Add health digital tags for each scan class to indicate when HR is occurring versus realtime for that scan class. This would indicate when the interface is performing HR for the scan class and when it switches to realtime collection.

  17. Provide the option of specifying an output file path for the processed files that is different than the input file path

Allow the user to specify an output file path for the processed files that is different than the input file path, moving the files to this "output" path after they are processed.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 100038.

  18. Enhancement for OPC HDA to add switch  '/outputsnaptime'

OPC HDA Interface would be enhanced to use  switch '/outputsnaptime'.  For output tags, the interface would use the timestamp from the original event that triggered the output to timestamp the data.

Note: This was previously Enhancement 124754.
