PI Interface for SNMP accounting for Dynamic OIDs
Certain MIB files use dynamic indices which make dynamic OIDs. As the interface uses OIDs in the instrument tag manual action is needed to repair it should the OID change. This is particularly prevalent when using the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB, which uses process ID as its index.

We are the Independent System Operator of Brazil, an organization responsible to operate the supplies about 98% of the country’s electricity consumption. Our voice communication platform is a critical tool for our operations.
We have 4 regional operation centers. Each center relates to around 100 Electrical System's Agents (generators, distributors, transmitter...). These connections are provided by two hotlines per Agent, totalizing 800 hotlines connected on the 4 regional operational centers.
The voice platform of ONS is based on the unified communication solution OpenScape provided by UNIFY (Atos Collaboration Solutions).
We are monitoring all the servers that support this voice platform and the most critical processes for each server with PI System using the SNMP Interface. We are creating dashboards for this real time monitoring and the point is to identify possible problems before it affects the hotlines. With this monitoring it is possible to identify that a process is down and solve the problem before the final user realizes that a problem happened. To illustrate the dimension of this system and the quantity of process that we are working, the figure bellow shows one of our dashboards for this system (the dashboard for one of the 4 regional operational centers).
Observe that almost 90% of these servers are Linux and affected by the problem we are reporting. -

One of our largest EA customers in Brazil (LATAM) is requesting this feature as well. Do we have any plans to implement it?
