Ability to easily split Event Frame on a time range
Users have requested to have Event Frames split up based on a time range to more easily visualize the data and make reports.
For example, if an Event Frame is triggered Monday at 4pm and closed on Wednesday at 6pm it would be nice to have 1 event per day. On Monday it would be from 4pm-midnight, Tuesday all day and Wednesday till 6pm.

I guess the issue with an event frame that spans multiple time periods, like in the above example, 3 different days, is when you are trying to calculate duration over those time periods. When you look at an Event Frame, you have Start Time, End Time, Duration. Now if you need to know how much time you had a specific event type for each day: in the above example that would be 8h on Monday, 24h on Tuesday, and 18h on Wednesday, you can't just use the total duration value.
PI Integrator for Business Analytics allows you to request hourly or daily interpolation to split the Event Frame in multiple rows, that can then be summarized correctly in a BI tool per the desired time period, but it is very hard to achieve if you expose the Event Frames in only one row each.
If an event frame is split this way, what would be the desired mechanism to establish a linkage between them? For example, if I were to look at all the event frames from the past, how would I know that these 3 event frames were actually a single one that got split?
