As a PI Administrator, I need to trust that the data is identical between my collective members. Currently, there is no way for me to be sure it is the same unless I do a side by side comparison. Data can be missing, or slightly off, and I have no easy way to understand this right now.33 votes
The architectural design of a PI Collective is such that there is no data synchronization between the collective members. We have established procedures to sync the data using PI to PI Interface. Is this a viable solution?
Have a way to assess the data integrity so end users can trust the data and issues can be fixed quickly.6 votes
There are numerous ways to determine either directly or indirectly data quality. Can you provide more details on your needs?
To take full advantage of AF and substitution parameters it would be great to have a sort of type ID. Now i have to rename all tags to gain this possibility. It would be easy if i could use a portion of the tag name and a type id. Then i could deploy AF templates with substitution parameters really fast.3 votes
Using a portion of a tag name and a type ID may not guarantee there is a unique tag. What would be your expectation in this scenario? Should we always take the first one?
