  1. Expose SQC calculations to the asset model

As a PI user, I want to be able to visualize and analyze the SQC violations that are generated by the SQC rules.

The ability to save SQC outputs such as  Mean, median, mode, stdev, Cpk, max, min, 1-5 sigma zones, ucl, lcl in the following ways

    1) the EF associated with the SQC rule - essentially the alarm event
    2) an EF associated with a process event.  I want SQC summaries added as EF attributes bound by process event frames
    3) AF clients.  I want to be able to add Cpk, sigma etc for any applicable AF attribute to…

  2. Which tags are being used by a PI Analysis

As a PI Administrator, I want to know which tags are being used at which PI Analysis so I can know exactly if there is already another Analysis writing to a tag and avoid duplicated or wrong data.

  3. Add IsDST() function to AF Analytics

Use Case: calculating which Shift is working within a rotating-shift cycle, which must the follow Daylight Savings Time offset.

This function is available in the Performance Equation library, but not in AF. The function itself is simple once one knows it, but is not obvious (kudos to Nicola Gargano):

    IsDst = Floor(Float(''-'1-jan') / 3600) Mod 24 <> Hour('')

It should be added to the AF function library.

  4. Compare timestamps and output most recent value in child elements to parent element

From a varying number of child elements (all sharing the same template), I want to find the most recent timestamp of a same template-based attribute, and output the value with timestamp to an attribute in the parent element.
In addition, constantly (event-triggered/periodic) comparing the timestamps of these child element attributes and always output the "newest" value to the parent element attribute.

    Example:

From 3 child elements, all sharing the same template with attribute "ALARM", I want to have the most recent value comparing the 3 "ALARM"s, and have this timestamp and value in an attribute in the parent element.

    Suggestions…

  5. Allow output expressions when using implicit Event Frame generation modes

In AF/Analytics 2018, implicit modes of Event Frame generation were introduced (Pulse, Step, and Step Continuous), but they do not allow for an output expression like the explicit trigger. Adding this functionality would allow for EF attribute values to be written directly to PI tags when using any implicit mode.

  6. Error analysiss

As an AF administrator. I want a simple way to generate a complete list of all analyses in error for an entire AF Server. Currently, the only way to retrieve analyses in error is in PI System Explorer which is restricted to a single database and there is no way to export the list.

  7. % good property of rollup analyses

As a user, I would like to configure my rollups to display a value only if the quality of my inputs reaches a minimum % good (configurable). Currently, it's not clear which inputs are used in the rollup calculation- even if some inputs have bad values, the rollup calculates and appears normal.

  8. Order by name (alphanumerically) the Analysis in the Management tab in PI System Explorer

I would like to be able to order by name (alphanumerically) the Analysis in the Management tab in PI System Explorer after retrieving a list of analyses through a search/filtering. This could be done by clicking on the Name column.

  9. Allow nested operations in AF Asset Analytic functions for 'attribute attname'

KB00868 recommends Asset Analytics as the right job, but there are some major limitations that inhibit ease of use and deployment, specifically around operations on >1 attribute or tag simultaneously.

To improve this, AF analyses functions that take in data of type "attribute attname" should be able to process an expression that returns type attribute. Perhaps limited to periodic analyses other toggleable somehow, as there is potential to use a lot of CPU cycles.

    == Example 1: Totalized Mass Flow ==
Given FIT-001 and DIT-002, return the totalized mass flow (say, kg) over an interval. The current process:
    1. Create…

  10. Enable tracing for one individual Analysis

On a highly loaded system with thousands of analysis i have one analysis that is misbehaving, missing executions but no skipped count, etc. Currently tracing enables tracing for ALL analysis creating an ocean of logging to plough through for that one event every few days.

As an AF administrator i would like to turn on Tracing for one or more individual analysis to investigate rare issues that happen over time, without logging ALL analysis evaluations as 99.9999% runs fine.

  11. Allow writing arrays as a time series to an output

I would like to be able to configure outputs in an analysis to write at multiple time points (which are defined by the result of an array function).

    My use case is to:

    1. Configure an attribute as a Time Series Table Lookup
    2. Create an analysis that retrieves the values of this attribute as an array, e.g. using RecordedValues
    3. Transform the data using MapData
    4. Write the result back to another attribute that is configured as a PI Point

Can you clarify if your use case has 1 output PI Point or multiple PI Point(s)?

Is there any reason why you are not using RDBMS interface to bring your table data into the PI System? That would remove a lot of complexity and greatly improve performance.

  12. Trigger automatic recalculation for snapshot changed values

As for now, automatic recalculation is not triggered by changes on snapshot (KB01790), which means auto-recalculation does not work with snapshots values.
The idea of it doing otherwise is to help users that mistakenly added a wrong new event to a manual data entry tag to fix it and all related analyses.

  13. Allow Max Rollup to provide AF Element-attribute

Using the Max Rollup function - I would like to know which element provided the maximum value and output this as well so I can historize the information.

  15. Set name of Event Frame on close (or by the value of an EF output attribute)

It would be useful if Analysis Service would set the name of the Event Frame on close rather than open.

The use case is customer wants to dynamically set the name by a value of an EF attribute (possibly an EF output attribute) - for example, if a value changes while the event frame is opened, the customer wants to output the status of whether it has changed or not to an EF attribute and use that value such as  "<Event Frame name> - changed" instead of just "<Event Frame name>"

  16. Improve UI for Analysis Service Statistics

It can be difficult to locate an analysis group in the current (2.9.5) UI for the Analysis Statistics in a large system. Currently the groups are organized in decreasing order of lag which is great to troubleshoot latency issues. However, if one wants to keep an eye on the performance of a particular group, they must scroll through the list to find the group which can be painful in a large system. This comes up frequently when trying to see if a group is has some skip counts.

One way of improving the UI could be to include the type…

  17. Allow BadVal to check multiple inputs or IFERROR

Right now BadVal can only check one variable or Expression.  So if I am evaluating an expression with say 10 inputs, and I want the expression to output NoOutput() if any one of the 10 inputs are BadVal, then I have 2 options right now.

    1) copy the whole expression into the BadVal funtion and do "if badval(expression) then NoOutput() Else expression".

    2) Do "if (BadVal(input1) or BadVal(input2) or ...) then NoOutput() else expression".

Ideally you would have a IFERROR function like in Excel.  So you would just type "IFERROR(expression,NoOutput())

Alternatively you could have BadVal allow multuple inputes.  So "If…

  18. SecSinceValueChange

One of the items i need to build frequently, yet no support in analytics yet.
I want to habe an AF Analysis function that returns the number of seconds a value of an attribute has changed. E.g. to calculate how long a pump is running, how long a batch is running, etc.

Currently i need to workaround using a secondary trigger attribute and SecSinceChange, so two analysis and an additional PI Point.

    Also see topic here: https://pisquare.osisoft.com/thread/14374-af-analyses-secsincechange-strange-output

  19. Replace function to be added in AF analysis

It would be interesting to add the Replace function (like the one in StringBuilder) directly in AF Analysis

  20. Add reset and hold triggers to SQC analytics

Add the triggers to SQC rules to reset or hold the SQC rule. When monitoring a periodic or batch based process, a user needs to be able to hold the SQC rule or put that rule in a hold state until the process resumes. Without this feature, virtually all violations to the SQC rules are caused by the downtime periods - not the steady state process users are really intending to monitor
