PI DataLink input fields in the "Explore Events" or "Compare Events" functions to be displayed correctly
When opening Microsoft Excel to access the installed PI DataLink 2019, there are instances where the input fields in the "Explore Events" or "Compare Events" function cannot be seen. Additional step to expand the pane width is required in order to see them, and common users will only know this upon assistance from TechSupport. Would like the feature of automatic pane resize to be implemented where the PI DataLink application itself can automatically detect the display resolution and scaling factor and adjust accordingly for user's benefit

Restrict the "Root path" field on the "Current Value" menu to only display PI Data Archive servers previously connected to this machine.
We have 12 PI Data Archive Servers and another 12 PI AF Systems. I currently have to sort through a list of 124 "servers" when I setup to collect some PI data. Many of the 124 "servers" are old servers no longer in use or databases under PI AF Systems or accidental misspellings of a server name. It would be able to clean the list up.

Improve Event Frame Search in PI Datalink
As a Batch user who has made the jump to recording batches in Event Frames, I would like to be able to filter the batch Event Frames for multiple different BatchIDs within PI Datalink so that I can build effective and relevant sheets for my users.
Currently, using the "Explore Events" feature in PI Datalink, the "Attribute value filters" cannot filter for multiple BatchIDs (which is an Event Frame Attribute of the EF Batches). An example would be returning all Event Frames with BatchIDs that start with the letters 'A' and 'C' (ie essentially ORing the two individual filters of…3 votes -
Add new query that limits data pulled to that which is sufficient to properly chart while maintaining the visual integrity of the data
One of the quickest ways to identify exceptions is to visualize it through plots. Exceptions are often minima's or maxima's. Sampled data queries often miss the exceptions. Compressed data queries are frequently so voluminous that it is not possible to pull all the data you desire. Ideally, there would be a Pi DataLink query available where you could identify the time range you wish to retrieve, and only the data necessary to accurately plot that tag would be returned. This would minimize the data retrieved, speeding up queries and data transfers, while not overloading Excel with a bunch of data…

Calculated data for multiple points
In our business, people frequently use the "Calculated Data" function to retrieve (for example) daily averages for multiple tags. When they want to do this for multiple days, a new function is required for each day (presumably requiring additional calls to the PI Server to evaluate the data).
The calculated data function allows multiple data items, but only a single start time and end time. Extending the function to allow a range of start times and end times to be passed could greatly improve usability and efficiency.
The AFSDK appears to have functions that can be used to calculate this.…

Only include the worksheet in a formula if a sheet other than the one the formula resides is referenced
Copying formulas from one sheet to another is tedious because you must replace the sheet that Datalink forces in with the sheet you paste into even if all referenced cells are all on the same sheet. Please make the behavior similar to how Excel does it - only include the sheet name in formulas if a cell on a sheet that is not on the same sheet as the formula itself is references. Or at least an option to pick.

Implicit Intersection Operator @ prevents PI DataLink from parsing its formula
PI DataLink side panel should be able to parse Implicit Intersection Operator @ so formulas can be edited, when inserted by Microsoft Excel with Office 365,

Split the PI DataLink install kit into 2: PI DataLink (Legacy) and PI DataLink (not legacy)
According to the discussion in the question linked below, PI DataLink (not legacy) uses the PI SDK for loading annotations, even though PI DataLink (not legacy) could use the PI AF SDK for this instead. If PI DataLink (not legacy) was fully migrated to PI AF SDK, then this would leave PI DataLink (Legacy) as the only thing in the PI DataLink install kit that uses PI SDK.
At this point, another improvement can be made: separating PI DataLink (Legacy) and PI DataLink (not legacy) into their own install kits. This way, the main (not legacy) PI DataLink install kit…

Rename "Timed Data" to "Data At Timestamps"
When I see "Timed Data", I think: "Well of course my data is timed! But what does this button do?".
"Timed Data" retrieves interpolated/archived values at the given timestamps.
Please rename "Timed Data" to better reflect this. I recommend "Data At Timestamps", but if this is too long, "Data At Times", "Data @ Times", or "Given Time" would also suffice.

Rename "Time Filtered" to "Condition Time"
"Time Filtered" was meant to be interpreted as "Time [Spent] Filtered", but it can easily be misinterpreted as "Time[-]Filtered" (i.e. filtered by time, i.e. Compressed Data).
Please rename "Time Filtered" to "Condition Time" so that the name better reflects the function.

Ribbon icons should visualize the kind of data to be retrieved
Currently, the icons that PI DataLink uses in the Ribbon are just meant to look pretty and do not help the user understand what kind of data will be retrieved.
Please consider making the icons more informative. My suggestion is to use sparklines as the icons and highlight which values will be returned.
I attached an example. I'm no artist, so my example is very plain and ugly, but the icons that OSIsoft chooses should be in the same spirit as my example. Perhaps OSIsoft will change the colour of the background, line, or border across the different icons to…

Rename "Compressed Data" to "Archived Data"
In the PI DataLink tab in the Ribbon, "Compressed Data" should be renamed to "Archived Data" since it actually retrieves archived data and not just compressed data. The icon should also be changed accordingly.
Not all data in the PI Data Archive necessarily underwent compression, since compression could be disabled for some PI Points or an event can be manually entered, so "compressed" is not a synonym for "archived". Compressed data is a subset of archived data.
This is a source of confusion for beginners (including me at the time), who don't know how to retrieve the archived events but…

Find All/First/Last x number of Events like in BatchView
Like in BatchView it should be possible to show All/First/Last x number of Events that meet your search criteria.

Explore Events result in Column or Row
It should be possible to select whether you like the Explore Event result shown in column or row

Display number of Events Found in search result
There is no feature to show the total count of events found in the inserted result from Explore Events. This should be a optional feature just like i BatchView

Replace "https://techsupport.osisoft.com" in PI DataLink's About window
The link redirects to myOSIsoft. The link should be revised so that it does not redirect and possibly so that it leads to a different page instead. Either that or the link can be eliminated entirely.

Interpolate Step=On Tags
There are tags that should be kept as Step=On but there is certain cases in which someone should be able to easily bypass the typical interpolating rules (interpolation that follows the step parameter) and allow for a true interpolation between values
The cumbersome workaround is to utilize performance equation functions within the expression field . . . but that's pretty advanced usage

Format based on Questionable attribute
Would like to be able to format any data value based on the questionable attribute.
Use case:
We have a report that uses 15 minute sampled data. The data is in a large table, one month displayed, date on the left hand side, time in 15 min increments across the top. Goal is to have any questionable data be formatted Red so a user can see it quickly.
Being able to format based on other attributes, font, color, etc. would have value as well.

Datalink-query compressed data according numbers or interval
now users can query compressed data according the interval. how about to query according the numbers, which users can set

Integrate with Excel Undo feature
If you make a mistake or overwrite information while working with PI Datalink information there is no way to undo it without deleting or recalculating the information completely.
