Don't Include PI Server name in Stream ID for PI to OCS
For PI to OCS streams, the PI Server name is currently prefixed onto the Stream ID. Provide an option to remove the PI Server name and use some other type of prefix or hash instead.
4 votesPI to Data Hub now provides the ability to obfuscate your on-prem PI Server names (Data Archive and AF Server) in the cloud. This new functionality is available in the PI to Data Hub agent 2.0.0.0.
Note: this setting is configured in the Post-Installation Configuration Utility which runs on the same machine as your PI to Data Hub agent.
Please log into AVEVA Data Hub to download and install this latest version of the PI to Data Hub agent to enable this feature.

Share Trend Sessions w/ Dynamic Time Ranges
As an process engineer, I want to share with my colleagues trend sessions with dynamic time ranges (i.e., the last 24 hours) so that they keep updating.
3 votesWe have implemented the capability to keep the time range dynamic between sharing. Please check it out on the portal.

OCS DataView "Save as" function
If there is a dataview existing, which might need to be altered or edited using the UI, but the original dataview should remain (i.e., because of dependency to existing applications accessing the dataview), it should be able to save the data view under a new Id/Name in order to preserve the original one. Specifically if the initial creation of the dataview was very time consuming that would be rather helpful.
1 voteWe have added a “duplicate” function in the OCS Portal so that you can easily copy an existing data view, providing a new Id/Name on creation. We hope this helps reduce efforts in building off of other data views, and can enable templatizing of common configurations.
To duplicate a data view, navigate to the Data Views list page, click on the data view you wish to duplicate, and access the “Duplicate” option in the context menu on the right (in the data view overview pane).

Allow to arrange the column order of a data view
As a OCS data view user, I'd like to be able to arrange the column in a data view.
2 votesYou can modify the order of columns in a Data View by dragging and dropping the fields in the field configuration pane or selecting a field and using the up and down arrow buttons.

Trend search should have indicator to show which streams are already present in the trend display
As an operations engineer, when searching for stream properties on the trend search, I want to know what stream properties are already showing on the trend so that it'll be obvious to me what items are trending and that I don't have to spend time double checking to see if I have the correct items showing.
1 voteWe now display all tick values in black. We believe this improves the user experience with visual trending. Thank you for your feedback!

Trend colors of removed attributes should be reused
I was trying to create a couple of trends to show other people. I created one trend and saved off the URL to share with other people. I then deleted the attributes and added new ones. The earlier colors are easier to see so I would prefer to reuse those in the trend as the later colors can have less contrast.
Also in writing this up I realized I should have hit RESET to make a NEW trend and avoided this issue, but the naming wasn't expected.
1 voteWe now recycle the trace colors and believe it improves the user experience with visual trending. Thank you for your feedback!

Add tooltip and doc. link for Shape selector in Data View config UI
When configuring a data view, there is switch for Shape that allows a choice of Standard or Narrow (see screenshot), but there is no information on what this selection means. Users can see the affect by choosing one or the other and clicking on the Apply button, but it would be useful to have easy access to further information via a tooltip and/or link to documentation.
1 voteTo make it clearer for users what the different data view shape options are, we have added a more informational tooltip, as well as a handy link to the documentation

Edit a PI to OCS Transfer after it is created
As a PI to OCS Administrator, I would like to be able to modify a PI to OCS Transfer after it is created. I may need to add data to the transfer - because we added new data sources, or because I may have missed some data that needs to be included. This is important so I don't have to delete the existing transfer and then rebuild it with the modified list of PI Points.
32 votesPI to Data Hub 2.0.0.0 now supports the ability to Edit an existing transfer. You can now add/remove data from the transfer configuration, change the time range, as well as other properties of the transfer.
This functionality was released May 16, 2022. Please log into AVEVA Data Hub and download and install this latest version of PI to Data Hub to enable this new feature.

Provide Health overview for PItoOCS
As a PI System Administrator for a global company managing our OCS implementation, I need to understand when our PI to OCS connections are healthy or need attention so I can quickly determine where I need to focus effort to keep things running as expected.
3 votesWe are pleased to announce the release of a new PI to OCS Agents health tile on the OCS Home Page.
You will be able to view the health of your agents, and quickly drill into any of the available health statuses for more information.
Please log into the OCS Portal and let us know what you think!

Visualize Strings in the Trend
I would like to be able to visualize string data (streams / asset measurements) in the Trend.
When trending asset measurements, I also want to see the attributes associated with the same asset so that I can understand the context.
3 votesNow you can visualize string and enumeration data in OCS Visual Trending. Please check out the latest feature and share your feedback with us.
-
Standardization & Management of Assets
As a SME creating Assets, I would like to have a way to manage and standardize the information for my Assets SO THAT I can maintain consistency and decrease the overhead of managing many Assets.
1 voteUsers now can leverage asset types to standardize assets on OCS to simplify and streamline the management. Please try it out and share your feedback with us!

Missing Units of Measure (UOM)
If OCS is missing units of measure that you use and need for your data, please vote for this idea AND add a comment to this idea specifying what the missing UOMs are.
13 votesWe are happy to announce that new Units of Measure are now available in OCS:
millimeter per square second (mm/s2)
meter per square second (m/s2)
Cubic feet per minute (ft3/min)
deciSiemens per meter (dS/m)
Siemens per meter (S/m)
Microsiemens per Centimeter (µS/cm)
microgram per cubic meter (µg/m3)
Count per Liter (Count/L)
milliWatt-hour (mWh)
Watt-hours per mile (Wh/mi)
inverse centimeter (cm-1)
inverse meter (m-1)
Lux (Lx)
Watt per square meter (W/m2)
nanometer (nm)
micrometer (μm)
hectoPascals (hPa)
millibar (mbar)
Newton meter (Nm)The following UOMs were requested by customers but were not added at this time:
pH —> not a unit; please put this in the stream name / description
Volumetric Water Content (VWC – %) —> please use % as the UOM and include VWC in the stream name / description
USD —> currency not supported at this time due to it’s value changing over time

Let me copy the URL for the "get data" Data Views API call directly from the Data Views configuration page
As a Data Scientist, I want there to be an "easy copy" button so that I can quickly and easily copy the API URL that can be used to query for the Data View's interpolated data, with the parameters set in the configuration page.
This will facilitate ease-of-use for citizen Data Scientsts who will be leveraging this API call in other tools, as well as save time for both expert and citizen Data Scientists, by generating the API URL with required fields such as AccountID, Namespace, DataViewID, startIndex, endIndex, interval, etc.
3 votesThere are now two ways to navigate from a data view, directly to the API Console, automatically populating the Data/Interpolated endpoint and relevant parameters.
1) From the data view list page, click on a data view, and then open the context menu on the right side (in the data view overview pane). You will now see a “View in API Console” button
2) When editing a data view, the “View in API Console” button is present below the tableIn both cases, this function will open a new browser tab to load the OCS Portal’s API Console and pre-populate the Data/Interpolated route for that particular data view, including inserting query parameters such as startIndex, endIndex, and interval.
We’d love to hear any feedback!

Raw data at full granularity for data scientists
Enable bulk data access to data scientists that includes the full granularity of recorded events.
6 votesData Views now includes a new data endpoint that will allow you to query your data view to retrieve the stored values for the underlying data, instead of having the data interpolated to evenly spaced intervals.
When making a data views query, you can now use either API endpoint for any data view:
…\DataViews\[ID]\Data\Interpolated
…\DataViews\[ID]\Data\StoredTo help you visualize your data set before accessing it programmatically, you can simply toggle between the Interpolated or Stored preview in the data views configuration UI.
Both the Stored and Interpolated Data Retrieval modes are also available in the OSIsoft Cloud Services Power BI Connector.

PI to OCS - More configuration options when selecting PI tags to transfer
Allow users more flexibility and options when finding and selecting PI tags to transfer to OCS. Current implementation only allows a single PI tag name search criteria, and limits one transfer between each PI Data Archive and OCS namespace.
5 votesPI to OCS now supports a more flexible user experience when selecting PI Points for transfer. You can now search for PI Points by specifying several additional attributes such as Descriptor, Engineering Units, Point Type, Extended Descriptor, and Location Codes 1-5. Additionally, you can now build a list of PI Points by doing multiple searches, to accommodate PI Points that may not conform to a naming convention.
This functionality was released in version 1.4.84.0 on August 12, 2020. Please log into OCS and download and install this latest version of PI to OCS to enable these features.

Y-Axis Modes Aren't Self-Explanatory
There are three views of the traces. The “stacked” view where each trace is separately displayed is clear. But it isn’t obvious to me what the difference is between the other two views.
1 voteWe have added different icons for each Y-axis mode. Please check it out and let us know what you think!

Programmatic access to large tabular data sets
Ability to define and query a shaped and formatted tabular time-series data set as a data view for use in data science and advanced analytics applications. .
OCS stream data is interpolated at a given interval. Any time period can be queried and retrieved, and the data can be re-shaped to fit requirements of downstream applications.
0 votesWith the release of OCS data views, you can now create and shape tabular views of OCS stream data, and query the view on demand using the OCS REST API to return time-aligned interpolated data

Stacked Trend
Besides the single-scale and multi-scale trend modes, I also want to stack the trends on top of one another so that traces don't overlap, and each trace has its own Y-axis scale.
0 votesThe feature has been completed and released in OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) visual trending.
Please check it out and let us know what you think.

Hide / Show Traces
As an end-user of the Trend app, when visualizing multiple variables in a trend, sometimes I want to hide a few of them so I can focus on the rest. Once done, I want to add the hidden traces back to the trend so I can see the whole picture.
0 votesThe feature has been completed and released in OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) visual trending.
Please check it out and let us know what you think.
