Support creating data views utilizing assets instead of individual streams.3 votes
OCS Data Views now support the ability to query assets in addition to streams.
When creating a query in your Data View, you can choose Asset as your query type. Please refer to the OCS Documentation for information on Asset Search syntax for querying assets by Asset Name, Id, Type, Metadata and Stream References.
Ability to search for Assets by their metadata (key/value pairs). For example, search for "Philadelphia Pumps"3 votes
You can now search assets by metadata in OCS asset explorer or visual trending. Please check out the new feature and share your feedback with us!
Ability to search for assets by Name or Description and see a list of matching results.3 votes
You can now search assets by name in OCS asset explorer or visual trending. Please check out the new feature and share your feedback with us!
Ability to support URL parameters for data, time, etc. in the OCS Trend page.3 votes
OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) visual trending supports URL parameters for data items, time range, and Y-axis mode. You can copy your trend session URL and sent to your colleagues, so it’s quick and easy to get on the same page about what’s happening.
This functionality can also be used to bookmark trends you frequently use within your web browser.
Please check it out and let us know what you think.
Have an OCS Licensing Model for Partners3 votes
OSIsoft does have OCS Licensing for Partners available. Speak with your partner manager for further details.
As an OSIsoft Partner and Systems Integrator, I want to have a way to build connectors (interfaces) that can write data to Cloud Services for customers that have custom equipment SO THAT we can have more opportunities in the market.
Leverage OSIsoft Message Format (OMF).3 votes
Data Ingress in OCS via OMF (version 1.0 and 1.1) has been released for West US in June 2019 and is now also available in West Europe.
I need more authentication options than windows/Active Directory such as Open ID, Oauth (or other open standards) SO THAT customers have a variety of ways to authenticate into the system.3 votes
OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) supports claims and Identity Providers. Our first release was mid-2019. More specifically, we are using the Open ID Connect implementation of OAuth 2.0.
We support the following Identity Providers in OCS: Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Accounts, and Google.
Within the trend search pane, group properties of a stream under the stream as opposed to a flat list and for PI to OCS streams, and make it easy to get the Value and not StatusCode (which is unlikely to be trended).
There is an option under My Profile to hide property streams from showing up in the search pane. Please try it out and share your feedback with us.
Ability to Configure / map Asset status stream properties to Asset status colors (green / yellow / red) and View Asset status on Asset search results.2 votes
Asset status is now available through asset explorer on OCS. Please try it out and share your feedback with us!
If there is a dataview existing, which might need to be altered or edited using the UI, but the original dataview should remain (i.e., because of dependency to existing applications accessing the dataview), it should be able to save the data view under a new Id/Name in order to preserve the original one. Specifically if the initial creation of the dataview was very time consuming that would be rather helpful.1 vote
We have added a “duplicate” function in the OCS Portal so that you can easily copy an existing data view, providing a new Id/Name on creation. We hope this helps reduce efforts in building off of other data views, and can enable templatizing of common configurations.
To duplicate a data view, navigate to the Data Views list page, click on the data view you wish to duplicate, and access the “Duplicate” option in the context menu on the right (in the data view overview pane).
As an operations engineer, when searching for stream properties on the trend search, I want to know what stream properties are already showing on the trend so that it'll be obvious to me what items are trending and that I don't have to spend time double checking to see if I have the correct items showing.1 vote
We now display all tick values in black. We believe this improves the user experience with visual trending. Thank you for your feedback!
I was trying to create a couple of trends to show other people. I created one trend and saved off the URL to share with other people. I then deleted the attributes and added new ones. The earlier colors are easier to see so I would prefer to reuse those in the trend as the later colors can have less contrast.
Also in writing this up I realized I should have hit RESET to make a NEW trend and avoided this issue, but the naming wasn't expected.1 vote
We now recycle the trace colors and believe it improves the user experience with visual trending. Thank you for your feedback!
When configuring a data view, there is switch for Shape that allows a choice of Standard or Narrow (see screenshot), but there is no information on what this selection means. Users can see the affect by choosing one or the other and clicking on the Apply button, but it would be useful to have easy access to further information via a tooltip and/or link to documentation.1 vote
To make it clearer for users what the different data view shape options are, we have added a more informational tooltip, as well as a handy link to the documentation
As a SME creating Assets, I would like to have a way to manage and standardize the information for my Assets SO THAT I can maintain consistency and decrease the overhead of managing many Assets.1 vote
Users now can leverage asset types to standardize assets on OCS to simplify and streamline the management. Please try it out and share your feedback with us!
There are three views of the traces. The “stacked” view where each trace is separately displayed is clear. But it isn’t obvious to me what the difference is between the other two views.1 vote
We have added different icons for each Y-axis mode. Please check it out and let us know what you think!
As a data scientist, I often want to include calculated features in addition to the stream property data. Examples include min, max, average, etc. calculated at the same frequency as the interpolated stream property values.1 vote
Data views now allows you to add OCS summaries into your dataset.
Summaries will let you easily enhance your data sets beyond just field values – there are 12 summary types ready to choose from including min, max, mean, count, standard deviation, and more! See the full list in our docs here: https://ocs-docs.osisoft.com/Content_Portal/Documentation/SequentialDataStore/Reading_Data_API.html#get-summaries
To add a summary to your data view, click the “+Add” button, and then use the form filters to find the field and summary types that you want to include. Select one or multiple to add them into your data view as new columns.
Support the concept of Assets within the OCS Trend. This includes searching for Assets and trending their attributes/properties.1 vote
The visual trending in OCS is now fully compatible with assets. Please try it out and share your feedback with us!
Ability to see summary calculations / statistics (min/max/avg/duration) between successive trend cursor marker lines SO THAT a user can easily understand what happens during the cursor times.1 vote
The feature has been completed and released in OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) visual trending.
Please check it out and let us know what you think.
There seems to be a dependency on IE, when installing the PI to OCS agent. This wasn't there in earlier versions. I kept getting Flash error during DUO authentication. I had FF and Chrome installed, and Flash was disabled. I ended up having to install IE, then disable Flash in IE, before I could get past the DUO error1 vote
PI to OCS now uses the System Browser during installation. The install kit will now use the default system browser instead of the older embedded browser for user authentication to avoid known embedded browser issues.
This functionality was released in version 18.104.22.168 on August 12, 2020. Please log into OCS and download and install this latest version of PI to OCS to enable these features.
