Let me copy the URL for the "get data" Data Views API call directly from the Data Views configuration page
As a Data Scientist, I want there to be an "easy copy" button so that I can quickly and easily copy the API URL that can be used to query for the Data View's interpolated data, with the parameters set in the configuration page.
This will facilitate ease-of-use for citizen Data Scientsts who will be leveraging this API call in other tools, as well as save time for both expert and citizen Data Scientists, by generating the API URL with required fields such as AccountID, Namespace, DataViewID, startIndex, endIndex, interval, etc.

UOM Support in OCS Data Views
As a data scientist, I want to know the UOMs for the data I am accessing and analyzing so that I have a more complete understanding of the data.
3 votesUnit of measure support for OCS data views is now in development! Based on feedback, we are ensuring you have flexibility in how this UOM is represented in your data set, with options to label column headers with the UOM, or to include it directly in your data table as its own field

Provide a trending experience for data views
Including trend in the data view configuration tool will make it easier to explore and validate your data view configuration, and underlying data set

Add tooltip and doc. link for Shape selector in Data View config UI
When configuring a data view, there is switch for Shape that allows a choice of Standard or Narrow (see screenshot), but there is no information on what this selection means. Users can see the affect by choosing one or the other and clicking on the Apply button, but it would be useful to have easy access to further information via a tooltip and/or link to documentation.

When changing the startIndex, allow it to override the endIndex if you are changing it to a time ahead of the endIndex
Currently, in order to change your date range to a later date, you have to first change the endIndex, and then the startIndex. If you change the startIndex to a date later than the endIndex, it would be easier if it simply cleared the endIndex field for you

Enable conditional substitution between fields in a Data View
As a Data Scientist exploring or analyzing my dataset, I want to have the ability to configure a Data View to conditionally substitute the value from one field into another field (for instance if a field has a null value at one interval, fill that interval with the value from a different field)
An example of a common use case would be regarding PI tags sent to OCS via the PI to OCS Agent. Consider a scenario where a numeric PI tag (eg. of type Float) had a period where it stored system Digital State values (eg. Bad Input) instead…

Include Calculated Data in OCS Data Views
As a data scientist, I often want to include calculated features in addition to the stream property data. Examples include min, max, average, etc. calculated at the same frequency as the interpolated stream property values.
1 voteThis feature is in progress – this initial implementation will allow you to easily include common summary calculations (min, max, average, and many more) in an OCS data view. Have thoughts? Vote, comment, or get in touch!

Support Assets in OCS Data Views
Support creating data views utilizing assets instead of individual streams.
1 voteWe have begun work to allow OCS data views to target assets, in addition to streams. We still want to hear more about how this can enable you to create more powerful analytics with your OCS data, so if this topic interests you, please vote, comment, or get in touch!
