Remote Operations Monitoring (SaaS offering)
As a customer that has assets in locations that have few personnel that are capable of maintaining software on site, but need to create displays, reports, and troubleshoot operational issues using data from several different small automation systems. I need a low to zero footprint offering that is always up-to-date offered on a subscription basis so that I can enable visualization and analytical capabilities on my remote sites.
56 votesWith the release of Assets in OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS), users now have ways to easily create assets at scale with asset types and asset rules, monitor and see the current state of their assets with asset explorer and asset status, investigate problems and troubleshoot their assets with asset support and asset swapping in trending, and share both fleet views of their assets and trends with URL parameter support in both the asset explorer and trending. Asset information can also be queried through the OCS REST API (still in preview), making it available to a variety of applications and uses.
Additionally, OCS data views also supports assets, making it easy to shape asset data into preconfigured tabular datasets that can be queried through the OCS REST API. This provides a familiar workflow for data scientists to access operational data and apply it to machine learning models and…

Data Science Enablement
I have a customer scenario where I need to use Operational data for Data Science & Machine Learning purposes.
54 votesWith the release of two new features in OSIsoft Cloud Services, data views and metadata rules, users now have powerful and flexible tools available to apply automated context to their data streams, and to shape those streams into preconfigured tabular datasets that can be queried through the OCS REST API. This provides a familiar workflow for data scientists to access operational data and apply it to machine learning models and other advanced analytics.
OSIsoft will continue to enhance these capabilities and others across our technology stack to support users’ data science initiatives. Provide feedback on use cases and stay informed of the next set of features in development through Uservoice updates.

Edit a PI to OCS Transfer after it is created
As a PI to OCS Administrator, I would like to be able to modify a PI to OCS Transfer after it is created. I may need to add data to the transfer - because we added new data sources, or because I may have missed some data that needs to be included. This is important so I don't have to delete the existing transfer and then rebuild it with the modified list of PI Points.
32 votesPI to Data Hub 2.0.0.0 now supports the ability to Edit an existing transfer. You can now add/remove data from the transfer configuration, change the time range, as well as other properties of the transfer.
This functionality was released May 16, 2022. Please log into AVEVA Data Hub and download and install this latest version of PI to Data Hub to enable this new feature.

Replicate AF Elements and Attributes in OCS
As a PI System Administrator, I need to make it easy for our users to find the data they are looking for in OCS. With potentially millions of streams, having context around that data is critical. We have already made the investment in PI AF and would like to take advantage of our existing context definitions in AF and apply them to the data in OCS. This will enable our users to quickly find what they are looking for using the context they are already familiar with.
OSIsoft Product Management is looking for feedback from our customers about requirements for…
28 votesPI to Data Hub 2.0.0.0 now supports the ability to replicate AF Elements, Attributes and PI Point references to AVEVA Data Hub. You can now select the data you wish to transfer either by searching for PI Points explicitly, or simply search your AF Database and add the elements you are interested in. Any PI Point references configured as part of those elements will be added to the transfer automatically.
This functionality was released May 16, 2022. Please log into AVEVA Data Hub and download and install this latest version of PI to Data Hub to enable this feature.

Capture data from remote customer sites that don’t have a PI System
As a company that provides services for remote assets at our customers sites, we need to collect data from our customer sites without having to deploy a full PI System SO THAT we can start providing our service weeks to months faster and save on deployment and infrastructure costs.
Ideally, we could deploy some PI Connectors to remote sites and store the data in a Cloud Data Store.
18 votesEdge Data Store (EDS) was designed to meet IoT/edge deployments where a PI System is not a good fit due to environment, location, operating system, network and/or management concerns. EDS provides standard data collection via Modbus TCP and OPC UA, custom data collection via an OSIsoft Message Format (OMF) REST endpoint, persistent data storage, an API for local data access and custom application development, an API for configuration and management at scale, and data transfer to PI Servers and OSIsoft Cloud Services (OCS) using OMF. EDS has a small installed footprint and runs on lightweight Linux or Windows based devices and is a great fit for data collection and local data access for remote assets, especially when network bandwidth is constrained or network availability is not guaranteed. Link to the EDS user guide:
https://osisoft.github.io/Edge-Data-Store-Docs/V1/In addition to EDS, OSIsoft has released a…

Deployment of OCS in Europe
We need to ensure that when our company's data is stored in the cloud, it is stored within Europe SO THAT we can comply with local regulations and stay in compliance.
We need to make sure the servers that our data resides on is located within the European Union.
12 votesOSIsoft Cloud Services has expanded to support data residency in EMEA. In addition to the previously supported West US region, you are now able to store data in the West Europe region. You can choose to utilize one or multiple regions within your OCS account.
Data ingress via OSIsoft Message Format and PI to OCS Connections also supports sending data to either region in OCS.

Raw data at full granularity for data scientists
Enable bulk data access to data scientists that includes the full granularity of recorded events.
6 votesData Views now includes a new data endpoint that will allow you to query your data view to retrieve the stored values for the underlying data, instead of having the data interpolated to evenly spaced intervals.
When making a data views query, you can now use either API endpoint for any data view:
…\DataViews\[ID]\Data\Interpolated
…\DataViews\[ID]\Data\StoredTo help you visualize your data set before accessing it programmatically, you can simply toggle between the Interpolated or Stored preview in the data views configuration UI.
Both the Stored and Interpolated Data Retrieval modes are also available in the OSIsoft Cloud Services Power BI Connector.

PI to OCS - More configuration options when selecting PI tags to transfer
Allow users more flexibility and options when finding and selecting PI tags to transfer to OCS. Current implementation only allows a single PI tag name search criteria, and limits one transfer between each PI Data Archive and OCS namespace.
5 votesPI to OCS now supports a more flexible user experience when selecting PI Points for transfer. You can now search for PI Points by specifying several additional attributes such as Descriptor, Engineering Units, Point Type, Extended Descriptor, and Location Codes 1-5. Additionally, you can now build a list of PI Points by doing multiple searches, to accommodate PI Points that may not conform to a naming convention.
This functionality was released in version 1.4.84.0 on August 12, 2020. Please log into OCS and download and install this latest version of PI to OCS to enable these features.
