  1. web API example calling Transposed Tag data by AF Template

Often we query by a template name to get a transposed list of attribute values between a nominated date range. The hacked OLEDB SQL code is below.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to run this as a WEB API Call. Can you provide a WEB API Example of calling transposed data by Template between a nominated date range and then filtering the records that do not meet criteria? In this example, they're not null.

    SELECT eh.Path + eh.Name as Element, ta.[time] as dt, ta.[Tag 1 Name] as Tag1, [Tag 2 Name]as Tag2
    FROM '@AFDatabase'.[Asset].[ElementTemplate] et
    INNER JOIN '@AFDatabase'.[Asset].[Element] e…

  2. Uninstall Internet Explorer from the Training Cloud Environments

Internet Explorer is an outdated, insecure, unsupported browser that nobody should use. It should be uninstalled from the Training Cloud Environments to help promote best practices.

  3. OSIsoft PI Accreditation or Certification courses for Customer

Customers also need individual employees to gain OSIsoft PI skills to help transform their business. OSIsoft PI Accreditation or Certification Program will also help customers to build and validate skills to get more out from the OSIsoft PI instead of only depending on PI Integrators & Partners. Customers here need to keep OSIsoft PI skills fresh to increase the uses of PI.

  4. Separate the "Specialized" groups in learning paths into "Specialized" and "Advanced"

The "Specialized" group was previously called "Advanced", but neither name accurately describes all courses within the group because some courses would be more appropriately labelled as "Specialized" and others would be more appropriately labelled as "Advanced".

Please reserve the "Specialized" label for courses about deprecated or uncommon PI programs. i.e.:
    • RtReports (needed only in certain industries)
    • PI ProcessBook (deprecated and needed only by organizations that have not yet migrated away from it)
    • PI Integrator For Business Analytics (cost-effective only for large PI Systems or at the corporate level)

Any course that is currently in a "Specialized" group…

  5. Remove "NEW - " from the beginning of course descriptions

All of the courses that have "NEW - " at the beginning of their description are at least 2 years old. Meanwhile, courses that are actually new, such as "Asset Framework: Basics", "Calculations and Asset Analytics", "Event Frames and Notifications", and "PI System Administration: Beyond the Basics", do not use "NEW - " in their descriptions.

The "NEW - " is meaningless clutter at this point. Please remove it wherever it appears, including when "NEW - " is in another language.

  6. Fix broken links throughout OSIsoft Learning

If you scan https://learning.osisoft.com with a broken link checker, such as the one linked below, you will find that the OSIsoft Learning website contains some broken links. Please fix these.

  7. Sell self-paced courses based only on content and not language

If a user purchases a self-paced course, they should be given access to all language variants of that course.
    .
    .
    This will:

    • allow multilingual users to focus on finding the course with the correct content and not have to worry as much about language

    • eliminate any regret due to a user purchasing a course in a language that they don't know as well, only to realize that a variant exists in a language that they know better; this may be due to poor research or the fact that some courses are hidden, cannot be filtered for, and/or…

  8. Replace the blurry OSIsoft logo

In the top left corner of OSIsoft Learning, the OSIsoft logo is noticeably blurry. It is blurrier than the OSIsoft logo on OSIsoft's other websites and blurrier than it needs to be to smooth out the edges with anti-aliasing. Please use a sharper version of the logo.

  9. Use "OSIsoft" instead of "OSIsoft Learning" as the Issuing Organization when you add a course to LinkedIn

On OSIsoft Learning, when you click on your picture in the top right corner and click on "My Profile", you can click on the "Add to profile" button of any completed course to add that course to your LinkedIn profile.

One effect of this button is that the Issuing Organization is automatically filled in to be "OSIsoft Learning". I feel that this should be changed to "OSIsoft", partly because "OSIsoft Learning" is not a separate organization. More importantly, "OSIsoft Learning" will not show OSIsoft's logo beside the certification on your LinkedIn profile, whereas "OSIsoft" will show OSIsoft's logo. The logo…

  10. Update the "PI System Infrastructure Specialist: Readiness Exam" links

The "PI System Infrastructure Specialist: Readiness Exam" link is broken wherever it appears, such as on certificate pages or in the error message when you try to register for PI System Installation Accreditation without completing the prerequisites. The latter case and an example of the former case are linked below.
    https://verify.skilljar.com/c/gmx5qav8rw2m
    https://learning.osisoft.com/pi-system-installation-accreditation

Ideally, please fix the broken link wherever it is used, but if that is not feasible, a redirect to the correct page would be the next best option. I'm guessing that the correct page is the one linked below:

  11. Eliminate redirects in the footer of OSIsoft Learning

For any link, in the footer of OSIsoft Learning, that starts with https://osisoft.com, replace https://osisoft.com with https://www.osisoft.com to avoid redirects and make the pages load faster.

  12. Drill down from country to city in the Location / Time Zone filter group on the All Content page

On the All Content page (https://learning.osisoft.com/page/all-content), the Location / Time Zone filter group currently lists 17 cities sorted in alphabetical order of city name. This is difficult to navigate and is akin to sorting numbers starting from their last digit.

Consider turning this filter group into a hierarchy where you have country on the top level and cities within each country. Ideally, the countries would be expandable to show the city, much like how each filter group is expandable/collapsible. Also, ideally, the countries would also behave like a filter item, allowing all cities within a country to be…

  13. Clarify "One Month" in "Training Cloud Environments (One Month Access)"

The paid self-paced courses come with 30 days of access to the Training Cloud Environment. Does the "Training Cloud Environments (One Month Access)" (https://learning.osisoft.com/training-cloud-environments-one-month-access) also provide 30 days of access? Or maybe "One Month" means "from the time of purchase up until the day with the same day number next month", in which case the number of days varies but the price doesn't.

Please clarify what "One Month" means. If it is a fixed number of days; for example, 30; then "One Month" should be replaced with "30-Day".

  14. Provide a link to the playlist in the same language as the course

At the end of the "About this course" section of the self-paced courses, there is usually a link to the course playlist on YouTube. However, the link always leads to the English playlist regardless of the language of the course.

In the "About this course" section of all self-paced courses, please provide a link to the playlist of the same course in the same language.

  15. Revise the Content Type filter group on the All Content page

The items currently listed in the Content Type filter group on the All Content page (https://learning.osisoft.com/page/all-content) are:
    • Self paced
    • Instructor led
    • Virtual instructor led

    Please change these to:
    • Self-paced
    • Instructor-led (virtual)
    • Instructor-led (in-person)

    Reasoning behind the proposed change:
    • The added hyphens make the items more grammatically correct.
    • By beginning with "Instructor-led", the last 2 items align better visually with each other and makes it much more obvious at a glance that both are instructor-led.
    • I moved "Instructor-led (virtual)" to be between the other 2 because it "bridges" the other…

  16. Add an "Instructor-Led Course" filter group to the All Content page

There are only 6 distinct instructor-led courses, but there are 69 variations of these. There are few enough distinct instructor-led courses for it to be practical for them to have their own filter group on the All Content page (https://learning.osisoft.com/page/all-content). Some users will always prefer instructor-led courses over self-paced ones, so this should help those users more easily see what is available to them.

If you are thinking "Why would we add such a filter group for only the instructor-led courses?", I have 3 answers:

    • If all courses (instructor-led + self-paced) courses were to be listed in…

  17. Add a "Product" filter group to the All Content page

Please add a "Product" filter group to the All Content page (https://learning.osisoft.com/page/all-content) to allow courses to be filtered by the PI products that they cover. This is especially useful for courses that cover multiple PI products or that cover a PI product that is not mentioned in the course's title.

Most instructor-led courses fall into this boat. For example, if I want to learn about PI Vision, I'll search for "PI Vision" and not "Visualizing PI System Data (Clients)".

  18. On the 1st page of the course evaluation, translate the dropdown menu items to the selected language & have non-English courses listed

The dropdown menu items on the 1st page of the course evaluation are always in English, regardless of the language that you selected for the evaluation. Also, there is no option to select non-English versions of courses.

Please change this so that non-English versions of courses can be selected and so that the course evaluation can be completed entirely in the selected language (other than perhaps the name of a course in a different language).

  19. Incorrect "correct answer" in "O Básico do PI System"

The "correct answer" to the question below in the "O Básico do PI System" course is incorrect. Please fix this.

    The question is:
Qual das seguintes expressões de tempo do PI NÃO mostrarão dados para um incidente que ocorreu ontem às 08:30h da noite? Considere o tempo atual como sendo: 14-Abr-2020 10:00:00

  20. Use absolute links in the footer and the avatar menu of the OSIsoft Learning website

The links for Guide, Basic, and FAQ in the footer and for FAQ and Sign Out in the avatar menu of the OSIsoft Learning website are currently relative. This decision assumes that the footer and the avatar menu will only ever appear in the domain learning.osisoft.com, which is unfortunately not true. If you log in, click on your picture in the top right corner to bring up the avatar menu, and click on My Profile, you will be brought to the domain accounts.skilljar.com, which still has the footer and the avatar menu, and all of the links that I mentioned…
