Combine Pi Square and Pi User Feedback\Idea sites
I work with a lot of different software companies and their accompanying user community forums\idea sites. Most of the time these sites are one and the same and allows for "one stop shopping". Currently, OsiSoft uses a separate platform for ideas\user requests. It would be a better end user experience if Pi Square and OsiSofts idea sites were combined.

Can we please also get Syntax Highlighting for blog posts?
I was under the impression that Syntax Highlighting is a general feature and now learn that blog posts don't have it because "blog" is an adopted child.
Can we please treat "blog" like the rest of the family?4 votes -
Better use of white space on PI Square
The PI Square feed appears to be portrait formatted, leaving a lot of white space left and right hand side, especially when using a wide screen monitor. As a result we often see undesired line breaks killing our attempts to create nice looking posts.
PI Square should recognize the amount of horizontal pixels available and make use of them. Attached screenshot illustrates the problem.4 votes -

Have a more graceful automatic logout
If you remain logged into PI Square for long enough (several days), you will be automatically logged out. This is fine, except that the logout page is an error page (see the attached image). Please instead load a page that signifies automatic logout. If the automatic logout is indeed an error, then please address it.

Collaborative Behaviour - Service Request
At the moment there's no possibility to modify a service requested by the customer from the portal like updating the description or request cancelling. The whole management has to be done via email instead of directly in the portal. On the other hand, a chatter is missing to work in a collaborative way between CSM and customer.

Correct or remove the Managed PI page
https://techsupport.osisoft.com/Products/Managed-PI
On the page linked above, there are 3 links. 1 leads to an archived page and the other 2 are broken links. Please either correct this page or remove it entirely. If OSIsoft choses to remove it, remember to remove the "Managed PI" button as well.
Even though this page is clearly outdated, it is still accessible from the main OSIsoft website. From the home page of osisoft.com, go Products → Collection → Search connectivity options → Managed PI.

Allow attachments in blog posts
The closest thing to an attachment that blog posts have is the ability to upload a single featured photo. The current workaround is to attach the attachment in a comment on the blog post or upload the file to the cloud and link to it. Attachments are especially important for blog posts that center around sharing some useful file(s) (e.g. scripts, spreadsheets). Please allow us to add attachments to blog posts.

Be able to unfollow inactive users
Currently, you cannot unfollow any users, active or inactive, from the page that shows you all of your followers, which is accessible by going to your profile and clicking on "View All" under "Following". The dropdown arrow by each followed user brings up a menu that says "No actions available".
Since we cannot unfollow users this way, the only other option is to hover over the "✓ Following" on the followed user's profile, which turns it into "× Unfollow", which, when clicked, will let you unfollow that user. However, the "✓ Following" indicator does not appear for inactive users (see…

Fix LiveLibrary Site
The LiveLibrary site https://livelibrary.osisoft.com/ often hangs with a spinning cursor and requires multiple refreshes to load a page. The browser used doesn't seem to matter.
This is a longstanding problem. Please fix.

Wrap long blog post titles
Currently, if you are viewing a blog post that has a long title, the part of the title that does not fit on the title line will be replaced with "…". Instead, please wrap the part that does not fit onto a new line. Blog post titles have a character limit, so you don't need to worry about a title spanning too many lines.
An example of a blog post with a long title:

Do not scroll when links are added to text
In any type of post (question, blog post, etc.), if you add a link to text, the box in which you are typing will scroll so that the text with the link is at the bottom of it. This is especially annoying for blog posts, which can have many links. Please do not scroll when links are added to text.
If you really want to keep some scroll behaviour, then scroll only when a link is being added to text that is not in sight. This can happen if the user highlights the text, scrolls, and then adds a link…

Change the wrapping behaviour at the bottom of the footer
At the bottom of the footer, there is this text:
©2020 OSIsoft. All Rights Reserved | Privacy Policy | Terms and Conditions | Do Not Sell My InfoHowever, if the text does not fit on a single line (e.g. on a laptop or tablet screen), it will wrap to the next line starting at whatever word doesn't fit. This looks very awkward, as you can see from the attached screenshot.
Please change the behaviour so that the text wraps based on what section doesn't fit. For example, if all of "Do Not Sell My Info" does not fit on…

Be able to add alt text to images
This is important for users that rely on screen readers. Alt text not only allows these users to experience the image through its description, but it also hides the description from those that can clearly see the image.
The old PI Square had good support for alt text. Please add support for alt text to the new PI Square.

Notify users when they receive a message
Notification upon receipt of a message has been standard since at least the says of raising a flag on a mailbox, but PI Square doesn't do this. You need to either look at the "Recent Messages" section of your profile or click on your picture in the top right corner and go to "My Messages".
Within PI Square, please notify users when they receive a message from someone.

List PI Square's Terms Of Use under "Code of Conduct" in the footer
Currently, the "Code of Conduct" section of the footer has 2 entries: "Code of Conduct" and "Our Principles". From any page on PI Square, it takes only 1 click to access them.
The Terms Of Use currently take 2 clicks and a bit of scrolling to get to. In the footer, click on "Terms and Conditions" and then click on "OSIsoft PI Square Terms of Use" if you can find it in the sea of other links.
In addition to where PI Square's Terms Of Use are currently listed, please list PI Square's Terms Of Use under the "Code of…

Show more than the last three "Recently updated ideas" on the User Feedback home page
The front page of the User Feedback homepage only shows the last three most recently updated ideas. Quite often more than three changes are made at once. Those are invisible (unless you get a notification because you voted for an idea or similar).
There's space for more than three ideas. In fact, it would be nice to have a page that lists all updates.

Replace the screenshot of a table with an HTML table in the "Initialization File Structure" article
This article features an excessive amount of text in screenshots. For the code, you could argue that the screenshots were needed to capture some of the highlighting and syntax highlighting. However, there is nothing fancy going on with the table, and so it should be replaced with an HTML table for a few reasons:
• The screenshot is slightly blurry
• The table will become copy-and-pastable
• The table will become readable by those using screen readers
• To reduce the size of the page and therefore also reduce network traffic, disk wear, and the load time of the page1 vote -
Remove the exclamation mark beside your rank on the Topics leaderboard
On the page of any topic (topics are listed here: https://pisquare.osisoft.com/s/topiccatalog), you can see your rank at the bottom of the leaderboard in the format "Your rank: 51!".
This can trip up the math and computer science nerds, who will initially read "51!" as "51 factorial" and then realize that the "!" just signifies excitement. To the less nerdy, the "!" doesn't add much value, so overall, the "!" hurts more than it helps. For greater clarity, please remove the "!".
