  1. Be able to view who liked a blog post

You can view who upvoted a reply to a question or liked a comment on a blog post, but you cannot view who liked a blog post.

In the first 2 cases, the upvote/like counter is separate from the button that lets you upvote/like, and you can click on the counter to view who upvoted/liked the reply/comment.

However, for blog posts, the like counter is part of the like button. Please separate the like counter from the like button so that we can click on the like counter to view who liked a blog post. This will also make the…

  2. Drop support for weak cipher suites

The new PI Square already has enough security issues. Every step towards greater security counts.

Please drop support for weak cipher suites. Basically, get rid of all of the orange here:

  4. Add support for HTTP/2

Please add support for HTTP/2 so that PI Square loads faster. This is especially important for mobile devices.

    HTTP/2 check:

  5. Change the placeholder text and its behaviour when inserting a link in a comment

Currently, when you go to insert a link in a comment, the text http:// is already entered. Since I usually enter links by pasting them from the clipboard, I highlight this placeholder text in preparation to delete it, but if I drag my cursor outside of the "Link URL" bubble and let go of my click, the bubble disappears. Also, the placeholder text reinforces poor security practices since any traffic to link that begins with http:// will not be encrypted.

To avoid all of this, please consider changing the placeholder text to https://example.com/ and make the placeholder text disappear when…

  6. Add "Draft" as an option to the "Audience" dropdown menu of blog posts

The old PI Square allowed users to save draft versions of blog posts, which were not visible to anyone other than the author. This allowed users to save changes to their blog post without publishing it.

In the current PI Square, you must take great measures to hide your blog post until it is ready. My current strategy is:
    1. Write the text portion in Notepad++.
    2. Paste the text portion into a blog post set to be published far in the past (so that it will appear last in the list of blog posts) and with the audience set…

  7. Add Code Block Option for Blogs

Code blocks have been added to questions & posts but not to blogs, and the need is the same. Adding this request specifically for blogs since the other request was marked Completed and will no longer accept votes.

  8. Have a more graceful automatic logout

If you remain logged into PI Square for long enough (several days), you will be automatically logged out. This is fine, except that the logout page is an error page (see the attached image). Please instead load a page that signifies automatic logout. If the automatic logout is indeed an error, then please address it.

  9. Be able to mention people with @ in blog posts

The @ mentions currently work only in comments but not in blog posts. Please make them work in blog posts as well.

  10. Wrap long text when editing a blog post

Currently, if you edit a blog post and enter text that is longer than the width of the Full Article box (e.g. a long URL), the box will expand horizontally. However, this box is contained in a window that does not expand horizontally and no horizontal scroll bars appear, so you will have a difficult time navigating the window.

Instead, please visually wrap long text to a new line. This is actually the behaviour of Full Article box when you create a blog post.

  11. Tell the user when their blog post is too long

Currently, if you try to save or publish a very long blog post, the "Save"/"Schedule Post"/"Publish Now" button won't do anything. Instead, when the button is clicked, an error message should appear.

  12. Link to the "Feedback thread for the new PI Square" discussion

In the discussion linked below, multiple users point out many bugs, annoyances, etc. in the new PI Square, and most of these do not have corresponding UserVoice suggestions.

In the discussion, we have links to UserVoice, but not the other way around. The main purposes of this "suggestion" are to complete the loop and to remind everyone that there are many more known issues than just those listed on UserVoice.

  13. Minify PI Square's HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code

This will reduce the size of the files needed to load PI Square, which reduces network traffic and reduces page load times. This is especially important for mobile devices.

To be clear, to avoid the extra processing time of a separate minification step, the generated code should be minified to begin with. That is, minification should not be a separate step.

  14. Be able to cancel comments

Whether you start a comment on a post or start a reply to another comment, the box that lets you write the comment won't disappear until you either post the comment or reload the page. Please add a "Cancel" button for comments.

  15. Add a scroll bar to the "Select Topics" dropdown menu when creating a blog post

    https://pisquare.osisoft.com/s/create-blogs
Currently, when you click on the "Select Topics" dropdown menu, all options are shown and you must scroll down the page to see them all. I feel that it would be better to have a scroll bar on the dropdown menu instead.

  16. On the Topics page, label deprecated PI programs and features as such

This should help remind users that they should not be using these programs and features. Appending "(deprecated)" to the end of these topics should suffice.

The topics for deprecated PI programs and features are:
    • Performance Equations
    • Totalizers
    • PI ACE
    • PI ProcessBook

  17. Centralize the recognition of outstanding contributors to the PI community

There are posts on PI Square such as the Security Hall Of Thanks and the All-Star announcement posts that recognize outstanding contributors to the PI community. However, these posts are scattered and older posts are difficult to find. Also, there were some years where All-Stars were announced at a live event but there is no corresponding PI Square post.

Please consider centralizing the recognition of outstanding contributors to the PI community. The recognition does not necessarily have to all be on a single web page, as long as there is some central web page that allows you to easily reach…

  18. Address the warnings given by the "Developer tools" of Microsoft Edge

PI Square gives >99 warnings in the "Developer tools" of Microsoft Edge for the home page alone. Please check the "Developer tools" for multiple pages of PI Square and fix any issues that Microsoft Edge reports to ensure that best practices for compatibility, accessibility, security, etc. are being followed.

  19. On the "Topics" page, list online courses in the same order as in the learning paths

Currently, the online courses are listed in a seemingly random order on the "Topics" page (https://pisquare.osisoft.com/s/topiccatalog), which makes it difficult to find a particular course. Please list the courses in the same order as they appear in their learning paths on OSIsoft Learning (https://learning.osisoft.com/).

  20. Delete blog posts with equivalent KB articles or that are old, unengaging beta/release announcements

There are >1300 blog posts on PI Square, and most of these are from the early 2010s when vCampus/PI Square was much more active. About 2% of all blog posts is old beta and release announcements with little engagement and information that is now largely irrelevant. Please delete these blog posts to make it easier to find the blog posts that still matter. Please especially delete such blog posts for products that are being retired (mostly PI ProcessBook and PI ACE).

Also, if a blog post has an equivalent KB article, then the blog post should be deleted so that…
