Why actively prevent someone from a quick ad hoc explore of their data ? They cannot save the work they do, there is no lasting impact, but this does give every user the chance to explore the data in ways possibly not thought of by the display creator.

Murthy, I would question if OSI PI is the right tool for looking at data with a dual key, such as depth. There are many great tools with 40 years of development for looking at depth based data. For dual key data, you are better off with a SQL or Cassandra structure to the database than a historian optimised for time sequential data. If the data is only in PI, move it into a structured database with graphics designed for depth based plotting.

The ability to configure multi-state based on a calculation is currently in development for the PI Vision 2020 release.

PI Vision 2020 will support display level calculations that can be used as data items in symbols and as the multi-state source for a symbol.

See other thread on this topic, and the issue of better clarity of Tahoma numbers to better distinguish between the digits 689. The letters of Tahoma and Arial are the same, but Tahoma numbers are designed for improved display clarity. Many HMI's (BP's new spec for example) require Tahoma for this reason.
