Collections and Asset Comparison Table are a big step toward meeting this, but the example given suggests a single trend/graph with multiple traces, each trace representing the MW produced for an asset. This specific functionality has been requested here - https://feedback.osisoft.com/forums/320517-pi-vision/suggestions/12903429-asset-comparison-trend-with-multiple-elements-wit

We have a need for this functionality. It should have the same features as the Asset Comparison Table, but for a Trend.

I have a customer who archives a value every minute for all tags, even if the value hasn't changed. The reason they do this is so when they look at a trend over an historic period they distinguish between flat lining data (i.e. value was being read from the instrument, it just wasn't changing) and stale data (i.e. there was an issue reading the value of the instrument). In combination with the stale timeout attribute, the value that is stale could be marked as questionable so that when you later trend the tag you can see that it was stale and not flat lining.

We have started development to include the ability to specify a query that will define which PI Points are included in the data sent from the source to the destination using PI System Connector. We look forward to sharing more with you about this release in early 2021.

One useful way to define the subset of PI Points would be via point source.

You've got my vote. Collections within collections would allow multiple levels of a hierarchy to be dynamically created in one display. There are occasions where some levels in the hierarchy don't have much information and in a drill down set of displays, having the extra step would be pointless. Whilst a collection can display all descendants which would skip the level, the level is still important in dividing the descendants on the display. Nested (or sub) collections would make this possible.

Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio have the concept of "Dynamic Grid" which is better than snap to grid. "Dynamic grid guides assist in the sizing, spacing, and alignment of shapes in relation to one another.".
It snaps an object into alignment with others close by and shows dotted lines when they are. It also snaps an object and shows spacing arrows when the spacing between it and a second object matches the space between the second object and a third. You'll know what I mean when try it.
    My vote is for that.

Agreed. The contents of the value symbol is limited to left alignment. This makes it impossible to centre a value within a shape or relative to another symbol as values can have varying lengths. To display it neatly, the value would need to have centre alignment.

Hear, hear. When working with a display with multiple symbols, it would be convenient to be able to change the format of all the symbols in one go. Many of the different symbols share the same format options, so no matter which symbols are selected, the format options in common should be configurable in one go.
