An example of when printing is necessary is when we are qualifying a piece of equipment. QA needs a trend showing that what we said happened actually happened (temp/press maintained, etc). This can not be done via Excel, as that data can be manipulated when imported. We need a qualified way to print trends.
Another example would be when creating reports and trends on batch data need to be included. Yes, 'print screen' will work. But it looks hinky. And if it's an official report for filing, it needs to look good and come from a qualified system.
