Could you share your use case? In my opinion, forcing an additional (non-necessary) failover transition is just another chance for data loss and data source connection / disconnection. I have a hard time seeing why always going back to the same member is beneficial in a redundant setup.

In version 2.0.x, it is also available in the Data Source configuration. See UseDnsNameAndPortFromDiscoveryUrl in the UserGuide for details

This can be achieved by setting UseDnsNameAndPortFromDiscoveryUrl = False in App.OpcUa.Config and restarting the connector for the changes to take effect.

FYI - OPC UA 2.x connector does support OPC UA Server redundancy. It does not support client-side (connector) redundancy, which is what this 'Idea' is about.

    IEC 60870-6 TASE.2/ICCP

Commenting to make this request more searchable when looking for the IEC standard that includes ICCP

The current workaround would be to get the status using a REST call, and then store the result:
    https://<connectorNode>:<port>/admin/api/instrumentation/Failover%20Status
The result of the REST call, would be a JSON containing the information for both members. This could be stored in PI simply using PowerShell or the PI Connector for UFL.

The connector follow the OPC Foundation specifications. As an OPC UA client, all values received from an OPC UA compliant server is to be in UTC. The connector then sends it to PI DA in UTC. Depending on the client tool you are using, you can then retrieve UTC or Local timestamp.

    Please see https://reference.opcfoundation.org/v104/Core/docs/Part3/8.38/
All time values conveyed between OPC UA Servers and Clients are UTC values. Clients shall provide any conversions between UTC and local time.
