One way of preventing the crash that was suggested is to have one or many sub-processes managed by the AFService.exe and dedicated for the linked table feature. This way if a memory exception is thrown, the sub-process could be stopped and not the AFService.exe and therefore avoiding an AF outage. There are some drawbacks to this idea. For example, adding a sub-process adds another layer the data must go through before being returned to clients which has some performance implications. If the sub-process where to crash, but AF was still running the linked table data could be outdated or an error could be returned causing considerable confusion for users. Asset Analytic outputs could be incorrect as analyses would still running. Etc...
From OSIsoft's perspective, its more logical to fix the issue upstream, meaning using providers that handle their exceptions properly and don't run into memory / heap corruption issues as these are the most common causes for an AF Server to crash. Handling the symptoms downstream would be ideal, but there isn't a great solution for OSIsoft to implement. The best may be to simply stop the service gracefully with a meaningful error message.

Another example: https://pisquare.osisoft.com/s/question/0D51I00004UHkH1SAL/building-the-pi-tag-data-reference-configstring-dynamically?t=1610047552989
Used to look good on the old platform. Looks terrible now. Difficult to read is an understatement. Almost impossible to read is more appropriate.

Created this from a Tech Support case, suggested to the customer to add more details concerning their use case.

Or maybe the user can choose if for a set of parent/child attributes if the property isExcluded when it is set to false is propagated or not. Setting it to true should of course propagate as a child has to be excluded if it's parent is.

Add the ability to easily find analyses in the groups without template. This is a feature some customers need when the None groups aren't performing well.

In response to Chris Manhard, "Is this specific to PI System Explorer, ..."
This enhancement originated from a Tech Support case and was for both PI DataLink and PI System Explorer. Sorry for not making that clear in the request. An error occurred while saving the comment Sebastien Raposo commented
As a client user located in a different time zone than the AF Server, I would like to have the ability to view Event Frame start and end time in server time. Currently it's only possible to view the start and end time of event frames in client time.

Yes François idea would work as a work around and was provided to the customer who requested this Enhancement Request. That being said it is a workaround and is not scalable for very large systems. Thanks for sharing the idea though, this may help some customers!

Some workarounds including Christoph are discussed in this knowledge article: https://customers.osisoft.com/s/knowledgearticle?knowledgeArticleUrl=How-to-reference-an-attribute-in-another-element-in-a-notification-email
Note that Christoph's suggestion appears to work well, and based on some preliminary testing and verification we don't anticipate any issues. That being said, since the feature was never fully tested, there are no guarantees from OSIsoft. Be mindful that the path relative to the target element has to be used.
