Yes that would be a very useful feature as of now we can only have generic useless comments in templates.

We understand and acknowledge the importance of this request. We are evaluating how to provide a homogeneous and unified experience for health information across all our connectors.

Would be nice to have several sets of same type of health tags, each set monitoring a particular data flow within the connector itself. We need to know when there are issues with a specific data flow, not just issues with the connector.

To add to the initial ideas, I believe data analyses would also benefit from knowing when the events were archived. Better overall updates management as well, better analyses reprocessing triggers. For example, one would know which backfilled events caused a calculation to re-evaluate its result and have a better picture of the data overall.

It would also be also nice if PI UFL could check (before attempting to write any data) if a pi tag with a specific instrumenttag exists. Then if it doesn't, try searching by exdesc and if found, write the data to the tag. We have large backfills where some files have different tag names and although the different names are in the tags' instrumenttags, PI UFL is generating huge amounts of errors we need to check to validate the backfills... not pleasant

In a nutshell, we would need access to Windows' timezone table to pick and choose timezones at runtime. That is, when PI UFL reads a file, from the file header or name it infers which time zone data in the file is in, then it looks up the timezone (one lookup per file). Once it finds the timezone, it goes on reading all data lines from the file, parsing timestamps in the timezone found. Then, when sending to PI it could convert to UTC and send as UTC timestamps (/utc flag). That functionality would be great

I believe UFL could take advantage of .NET and it's time conversion capabilities. I am not sure if one can parse a string in whatever time zone you need in .NET, but for sure we can parse a string as UTC and convert back to the time zone needed. All this is using Windows timezone registry info which is normally up-to-date and fairly complete (covers history as well)
