An error occurred while saving the comment Is the request specific to a symbol (tables)? Can you elaborate on how you would like to filter and sort data on the display?

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi Tim - you are able to click on the start time or end time on the timebar control and enter in text like "*-7d" or "+5m". Can you clarify what functionality you are looking for? And where is the comparable functionality seen in other PI applications?
Hi Manuel - PI Web API is an active product that has ongoing development.
In PI Vision 2019, PI Web API was used specifically for PI Indexed Search and not for any data access purposes. After evaluating the improvements made to the AF SDK, we saw an opportunity for PI Vision 2020 to use AF search as more reliable and simpler to support than the PI Indexed Search in PI Web API.
The removal of PI Web API from PI Vision should not change a customer’s decision to use it. The only documented way to retrieve PI data in custom symbols is using the data shapes defined in the extensibility model, so the use of PI Web API in custom symbols is considered an external data source. Since it is no longer bundled with PI Vision, it may require some additional steps to install/configure but those should be addressed during the symbol development.
